Siju all our local hospitals charge a rediculous amount for parking. It does seem so unfair, no one goes because they want to.

So true Mrs Moneypenny. Over the past few years I have visited 4 different hospitals in this area. Two of them charge and two of them have abolished charges. Some consistency would be nice!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday. Nothing to pot today as I haven't spent any money :A

A very good afternoon Sealed Potters, a bit wet out there, but I hope it doesn't mar the day too much for you. At least it's a notch warmer. :D For all those of you who are poorly or a little low for whatever reason, I hope you soon feel so very much better. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to hopefully help you through. :grinheart

Sorry, but for various reasons I am going to have to come out of the Sealed Pot Challenge - you can give my number to someone else.

That's fine, Mumof2, and as I replied to your PM, I hope financially things soon improve for you. If you ever change your mind then you know where to find us.

It sounds as though you bedroom is looking beautiful, jakes-mum. If you wanted to you could even get curtains, blind and lampshade to match. Re your shrapnel tin, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you didn't fill that before 5th March, what a special day that is!!!!

Keep your savings going, lexbubbles, as you're doing just brilliantly!!!!! :j

Isn't everyone doing well, 32b, and you're sooo right as, all those 'P's most certainly soon become '£'s !!!! Yep, you too!

    Great work, Chutney...

    ...you too, tatabubbly! ;)

10ps are still GREAT to save, Fairyfingers, you too, Dizzy Imp, so whatever it is...keep right on saving! Whether it's a little or a lot it soon mounts up in your pot!! :D

You've got it right, ravilious fan, every little bit counts!

I had an appointment at our local hospital last night and needed change for the car park (I think we're the only hospital that still charges for parking!!!!) However, I had potted my last pound yesterday so had to go in search of some change in DH's drawer. Ha ha, I found a pot full of change there and pocketed the lot (needs must), but when I got to the hospital a very kind lady gave me her ticket as she was leaving. How charming :)

Therefore, I have a total booty of £7.57 to plop into my little pot

What a guardian angel :A that very kind lady turned out to be eh, siju!!!!! :j Don't feel that you're the only one having to pay CP costs when going to hospital though as I'm positive you'll find it's a nationwide thing and that we're all being....screwed!!!! It's totally wrong though. I know they do it as so many shoppers abuse their CPs, BUT if they were to send tickets out to all patients and out-patients when they send appointments, then it would ensure hosp CPs were used ONLY for patients and visitors as they too should be given passes while they need them.

Costs are colossal here with our 3 local ones, but DH & I fortunate in being able to park near a public gardens, quite a way off but so worth it!

I'm so pleased your DH gave you his cash too, bless him! ;)

It doesn't take long for our pots to become really heavy, 12 month challenge, so keep up the saving habit!!!

Nice work, Evo, good to see you too. :D

    Very well done, Val!!

All being well I shall be here tomorrow, SPCers, but on Friday we're off for a Hen do for the weekend!! Our DD is hoping to go so I'm so thankful I'll be watching over her. I'll be home on Monday so most likely back here on Tuesday

Enjoy the rest of Wednesday, SPCers, keepsafe and healthy - and potting!! ;)

  • £5 potted today.

My pot is feeling quite full now. I will be popping to the pound shop so may as well invest in another tin. (just in case I fill my one to the brim) :D

Wow! You'll be rich by November :rotfl:

    :money:

I can't see how much I've got in my pot, but I'd guess it's about 1 inch full of coins at the bottom, so far.

£5.89 potted today. It shouldn't be that much, I went to tesco with a £5 note, spent £1.80odd and now I have £5.89 in change!! How does that work? I put all change in the pot at the end of every day and hadn't been out before I went to tesco so it wasn't already in my purse. I'm completely confused. I used the self service till too, so it wasn't a cashier who gave me the wrong change!! Oh well, it's in the pot now, however I ended up with it.

We went on holiday for my birthday (16th)

Read your post and thought it was your sixteenth birthday, Ruth, then I saw the bit about you going to get diesel  but then I looked again and realised you meant the 16th Feb :rotfl: Did give me a giggle though, happy belated birthday :D

32b3, it could be that the self-service machine is being overly generous with the change, or perhaps the person before left their change in the slot? Either way, as Westie says, it's good you have it.

£3.22 into the pot today for me :A

Evening or is it morning. :D

Our hospital still charges for parking and to be honest it was the last thing we were thinking about when I went into labour at the end of dec. Luckily hubby managed to scrape enough together. And they were lucky we bothered at all as we only arrived with 15 mins to spare.

I also took my little girl for a blood test on tues only to be told on arrival that there was at least a 60 minute wait. Didn't fancy that with a 7 week old and a toddler and my mum who was helping me had to get back for work so we rebooked. Would have cost £3 in car park charges but a kind chap had given us his ticket.

Anyway 2x £2 coin potted in the little ones sealed pots. (They do better than me) and a couple of pounds in change into my tin.
