  • Hello I'm wondering if I could sneak in and join yous again?

Did join last year's challenge but few family issues plus my boiler breaking meant I went a bit awol!

Would definately like to have at least £200 saved by the end of the challenge this year. Hubby is on board with trying harder to save and we have a small amount from last week's shopping money in the jar! I have bagged £30 from last year and we're going to get that changed into £1 coins for our large jar to see how many we can have at end of the year.

Sorry for going awol last year and hi again!!:)

I had an appointment at our local hospital last night and needed change for the car park (I think we're the only hospital that still charges for parking!!!!) However, I had potted my last pound yesterday so had to go in search of some change in DH's drawer.

We still have to pay at our hospital too. There's actually a sign before you enter the car park that says if you don't have the change to pay don't bother parking your car. I think it's so bad, especially when it's an emergency!

Read your post and thought it was your sixteenth birthday, Ruth, then I saw the bit about you going to get diesel  but then I looked again and realised you meant the 16th Feb :rotfl: Did give me a giggle though, happy belated birthday :D

HAHAHA!! No i am now officially 27. Thank you for the birthday wishes. Having a birthday so close to valentines day is a pain as everywhere is packed with couples but i still had a very good time.

Don't feel that you're the only one having to pay CP costs when going to hospital though as I'm positive you'll find it's a nationwide thing and that we're all being....screwed!!!! It's totally wrong though. I know they do it as so many shoppers abuse their CPs, BUT if they were to send tickets out to all patients and out-patients when they send appointments, then it would ensure hosp CPs were used ONLY for patients and visitors as they too should be given passes while they need them.

What an excellent idea Sue-UU. If only the powers that be had your common sense! :D Thanks to all the other potters who have commented on this theme - it seems there are more hospitals charging than I thought!

In potting news, I managed to pot £1.44 last night and hope to have more later today :T

It sounds as though you bedroom is looking beautiful, jakes-mum. If you wanted to you could even get curtains, blind and lampshade to match. Re your shrapnel tin, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you didn't fill that before 5th March, what a special day that is!!!!

Oooo Sue, it looks so lovely, we now have a lampshade but are waiting a while till we get curtains / blind and wall decorations so we get a 'feel' for the room and what it needs :D Am seriously leaning toward some sort of metal wall art to go on our chimney breast though :)

Hope you DD is starting to feel a bit better xx

Loool, when she said she had to leave work and get Diesel, I thought she was talking about picking up a dog called Diesel, no idea why that would be the first thing to pop into my head :rotfl:

DD has spent the last few days at her Grans house and has returned with the mother of all colds, her poor nose is red and sore from having to blow it so often :( She is feeling a bit better today after being wrapped up all yesterday and she is now having a film day, currently its 'The Santa Clause 2' :D No idea where she gets her love of christmas films from :D

I on the other hand have got 3 rucksacks, 1 shopping bag and a mothers day card to make and a crocheted owl to finish off! I feel time is running away from me  Finished my crocheted Mothers Day Wreath though, am starting to get a bit faster :D

As I haven't been out I haven't got any change :( BUT we promised DD we would take her to Maccy D's tomorrow (for the first time in about 4 years!) so should get a bit of change from her Happy Meal . . . and DH's Massive Meal :rotfl: He loves Maccy D's, broke his heart when DS was diagnosed Coeliac and he wasn't allowed to go anymore because it 'wasn't fair on the boy' (I hate Maccy D's can you tell? ;))

Put £17.60 in my 1p challenge pot this week and 17p in my sealed pot. I find it easier to pot the 1p challenge money weekly when I get my housekeeping money out.
