Afternoon all, strange weather here today.
Snow this morning and now a nice sunny day, albeit with a little wind.
Welcome to all newbies - good luck with your savings, it all helps at Xmas time.
Sue - wishes to you, your DD and family. Hope the MRI goes the way you want.
Popped another £20 into the pot and now £160.
Have any of you taken advantage to the bank switching offers??
I've done both the First Direct (via MSE) and the Halifax. £150 and £125 respectively. I'll pop an extra £20 into my pot once fully received.
Worth a look. It'll pay for a few flights.
Hope you were all spoilt rotten yesterday.**** Sealed Pot Challenge - Member #96 ****

Just £1.00 for my pot today. Will have to call at the post office on my way home, so will probably have some change from that.
Sorry to hear about your daughter Sue-UU, I hope you get good news soon.

Good afternoon all Sealed Potters, I hope you have a lovely one, so long as you keep wrapped up. I'm also hoping everyone had a great weekend!
For all those of you who are poorly or a little low for whatever reason, I hope you soon feel so very much better. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through.
WOW lexbubbles, you're on fire where saving is concerned, keep up that terrific work!! :j
Well done with that potted cash, Dragon Lily, and thank you so much for your wishes for our DD.
Wine or not, MrsC....tobe, you're still doing darned well with your saving, good work! It's really brassic, Baltic and bl**dy cold here. Grudgingly I have put the heating on, but am still cold  I am wearing thermals, jumper and trackies, two pairs of socks and a fleece. I'm just warming up some HM tomato soup and then going to add a wrap.
Love and best wishes to your DD and lots of hugs for the family Sue. Bet you all looking forward to the wedding - how long now??
Lx
Little wonder you've been soooooo cold up there, Lynne, we always watch the BBC weather at night and they've forecast some pretty mean temperatures for you lately!!! Not as bad as some in the US (-28!!!!!!), but still bally cold after the mild winter we've had. Good saving btw.
Thanks so much for your lovely words, Lynne, I'm really grateful. The wedding as on the 13th just under 4 weeks away! It's a Sunday, but, at the time of booking - 2 years ago - was the only day of the year free!! Great excitement is building up and I'm so pleased our DD has something so good to focus on, I just wish she could have been a little better, but you never know, miracles do happen. You keep wrapping up and stay as toasty as is possible.
Oh well, a pot from the £ shop won't be too bad a lay out, 32b3. I'm so thrilled you've not much longer penance to do til you get back to your other job. Thank you so much for your lovely words regarding our DD.
Good to hear you're so pleased with your carpet, jakes-mum, it really helps with the wow factor feeling. Sorry to hear about the wardrobe, but if it going to happen to anyone it has to be you!!
You go to that quilting exhibition and really enjoy yourself, plumduff. I can quite understand how you'll possibly be drawn into spending on material there too - but if it's material that you NEED then there's your answer - treat yourself!!
You're a darned good budgeter, Frogletina, saver too!Sounds as though you won't need much for the freezer for a while either. Enjoy your trip.
Eeeeek..... been so broke I opened my pot last weektook quite a bit out. Thats the first time I have ever had to open my pot in all the years i've been doing this. Wont have to do it again but feel really !!!!!! about it.
Not to worry, minmac, as the others have said, at least you had the cash by you. I think I can understand how you're feeling about it but chalk it up to one of life's experiences.Keep saving well as and when.
Bless you for the hugs, Modesty, I've made sure I caught them and will envelop DD and the entire family with them. :grinheart
Yeahhhhh indeed, Fairyfingers, great saving!!£4.79 potted today including two £2 coinsI never used to get £2 coins before but since February started I've been getting lots of them, initially spent them thinking it was a fluke but now a steady stream's started I've now decided to pot all £2s I get like other SPCers
(although knowing my luck, now I've said it I'll bet I won't see another one again :rotfl:)
Oooh, NatWest have this new nifty machine that counts up coins for you. You pour in the contents of your pot, machine counts it all, spits out a voucher for the total amount which you then take to the counter and the money's deposited into your account :j It's only available for NatWest customers but if you're one then it should save time counting and bagging your coins (and it doesn't take a % of the amount like some machines do) I went into branch last week to bank some of last year's pot and it was really quick to use so thought I'd let other potters know
It's nice to hear the machine in NatWest appeals so much, Selene, you'll have a wonderful time with it in November. I think most banks have them, a great idea too. Well done with the £2 coins, save em while you can!
I'm pleased you're looking at your permit expense in a positive way, TheCatsandDogsMother, after all there's little point doing anything else.
Great work with how well you're going so far, Mendry, keep on searching in every nook and cranny!
Well done, Val, you're definately a confirmed saved.Lynsey wrote:Sue - wishes to you, your DD and family. Hope the MRI goes the way you want.

Hello again, Lynsey, sooooooo good to see you! Thank you so much for the wishes though I haven't a clue which way to hope the MRI goes, our DD either, though I guess if there are new lesions then it's not such good news. Ah well, we can't change what's there for sure, and we're all aware the fact that it's only going to get worse. Still, they are doing a lot of research on MS...so have to remain hopeful.
I have to agree with you re the bank switching, DH & I were only talking about that last night. Well done you on having already done so and gained!! :j I had the most delicious box of Bl!ck M!gic yesterday!!
You're the second family member who's said there's a bit of a glut of £2 coins around at the moment, 12 month challenge, maybe the Royal Mint has got wind of SPC and is trying to help us out by making more!! Then again, maybe I'm just talking rubbish!
Thank you so very, very much, siju, I do too. Who knows!Well done with the £1 and...fingers crossed you'll have more later!
I forgot that after shopping last week I managed to pot a whole £15! Also 1p roadkill.Enjoy the rest of Monday, SPCers, keep wrapped up and stay healthy - and keep on potting!!

Went to the bank today to sort out DS with his very own debit card  and changed up the rest of his owings, so £25 in £1 coins in the shrapnel tin and a £2 coin in the £2 coin tinShrapnel tin now only has 2 cm of room left in it!
