Hi everyone. Firstly I found a penny on the road again yesterday so potted this. The 10p piece that Emma left in the hall was still there last night so that got potted too. I had to open my pot last night to get change from a tenner. Potted the tennerand then MRM said he had some more change. He then produced 3 sandwich bags full of pennies whic I potted. My Pringles tub is now full to the top so I have Decided that I will pay the money into my savings account at the end of each month.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Happy Friday everybody, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend :j

Called at the supermarket on my way to work this morning to buy some bread rolls. Also bought 2 small bars of chocolate for me and DH to enjoy tonight. Don't often indulge in sweet things, but really fancied a little chocolate fix :D I haven't told DH yet so it'll be a lovely surprise for him to finish off a very busy week.

Anyway, change from my indulgence trip is £3.11 and it'll be popped in the pot this evening.

A very good afternoon all Potters! I hope you're all well and enjoying the day. Whether you are or not, cheer yourselves up by looking ahead to a lovely weekend! For all those who are poorly or a little low for any reason here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through, and get you well soon. :grinheart

Flippin heck, jakes-mum, don't paper boys get paid a load now!!!!! What a tiddly amount of papers to deliver too!! Mine took 1 & 1/2 hours to do every day and I earned 18 shillings a week!!!!!!! Then I used to go home, just in time to go to my full-time job! Still, good luck to him, and at least he's earning which he'll be happy about. :DBTW your last sentence sounds awful!!!!!!

Well done, Dizzy Imp, it all helps and will really add up through the year!

I received your PM, Mumof2, thanks for letting me know, and I'm pleased you're staying with us but getting the best from both. :D

Great saving, 12 month challenge, keep right on hunting for anything spare. :j You're right in saying how soon it goes!

I'm really sorry to hear about your bunny, Val, but 8 years old is certainly a fantastic age for a rabbit to reach. Excellent saving of £12!!
I have been back at work part time since last August but only do about 10 hours a week as childcare is too expensive, we decided we would both rather I spent most of my time at home with the little one.

Potted £10 of tips from work last night, is it ok to include tips from my job?

As much as everyone needs money, Penny, I think it's so lovely that you both want you to spend most of your time with that little treasure of yours as those young years go by so fast, and far best to enjoy then than have regrets later. :grinheart
    BTW
. Of course you can pot your tips, a lovely source of saving for you all!! :D

Good thinking, Westie, very shrewd indeed. ;)

Sorry to hear about the fire and consequences, TheCatsandDogsMother, be sure to keep your wondows closed while it lasts, and when walking your dog........use a trail of shredded paper so you can find your way back home!!!!! :rotfl: I think a lot of us women don't have a great sense of direction.

Very good work, sunshine! Stay in that consistent mode whenever possible as you must be going great guns!

Always keep an eye on the floors, TheMillions, as you obviously drop more that you're aware of. So, excuse the expression, but try not to drop em too often!! ;)
Potted £1.50 that my daughter owed me for postage and 20p found under the sofa today....
and then popped in an extra £1 that I saved on parking at the hospital yesterday. Total of £2.70 today so feeling a little chuffed with my wee self.:rotfl:

You're saving at every opportunity, Fairyfingers, keep it up and you'll be so chuffed come November!!

January's always a slow and difficult month, lexbubbles, so do what you can when you can. :D

Don't mind me asking, mrs-moneypenny, but is there really a "1p a day challenge" going on??!! £1 a day I can believe, but a penny....!

    Keep it coming, Modesty.

Rummaged through the drawer where DH keeps his keys, wallet etc and found a pot of change :D Snaffled the lot, £4.01, for my pot  Don't think he's even noticed

Sadly (or not) siju, our DH's aren't always as clued up as they make us think they are. Just keep right on floowing him!!! :rotfl: Thanks for the lovely wishes, I'm getting much better thanks. :D oooooh, did you have to mention the words chocolate fix! Just seeing those words makes me all of a doodah! :rotfl:

Brilliant saving, Kim!! Keep saving THAT well! :j

hmm had to change pots yesterday due to finding the 50p had been raided! OH needed parking money apparently :(

now its all in a pot that cant be opened haha!

I think I'd be sure to hide it as well, Jacko_amz, as that pot too can be raided!!!! You're saving so conscientiously so please keep an eye on your precious cash!

    At a girl, Chutney!

If there's one member here who's guaranteed to know which day we're on it's YOU, 32b3!!! Enjoy yourself, and yes...I know you will!! ;)

    Good for you, MrsShazbat!!
Happy new year everyone as not been on for a bit. Im doing the save a penny a day thing on fb and was sorting through my change today. Ive saved enough money till the end of the month. Just shy of £5. By the end of the year if I stick to it should be nearly £700!!!!

Also mum and I are doing SW but we are weighing in each wed at her house so we get to keep the money :j. So thats another £15 so far. And Ive lost 6lb in 2 weeks so double bonus.

Will try to come on here a bit more frequently.
    Lots of love
    mumof3 xx

Hello at last, mumof3plusoh! A very safe, healthy and Happy New Year to you and the family also, and BTW, I'll hold you to those highlighted words above!! :naughty: Very well done with the weight loss and the cash saved weighing! :j

Another "penny a day challenge" saver and this time on FB??! However is that going to net you £700 in a year? :undecided You'll need to save £2 a day to get £730! Lots to think about for your DS, a huge year and best wishes to him...how about the girls?

Hello Helen! I'm so thrilled you had such a great day yesterday, have a brilliant weekend too! Thanks for your wishes, though for our DD it's a very different thing as sadly she has MS. :(

Too true, TheDapster, and loooooong it's been too! Still, at least we've saved during it! :D

Shopping earlier today and managed to pot the £10 change, plus the 5p roadkill!!! :j

Wishing you all a BRILLIANT WEEKEND, SPCers. :grinheart ....and keep your pots fed well!

  • Well done all you potters:beer:

Not much to report except a small trickle into the bucket yesterday. Sorry, that sounds a bit rude or maybe it's just me:rotfl:

Have planned to do a village hall table top sale tomorrow morning. As I've now potted my loose-change float;) I'm going to have to hope people will manage to find coins to pay me with at first until I have enough for change. Hopefully I'll have more than a trickle to pot tomorrow afternoon after the hordes of buyers fight over my tat:rotfl:

Sue it's not as lame as it seems.
1st Jan I save 1p, 2nd Jan 2p and so on to the last day of the year when I'll pot £3.65. I backdated mine to start mid Nov but I'm banging the money in once a week rather than daily and I'm hoping to bung some extra days in so I finish at the beginning of Nov and can include it in my spc count up.

The penny a day challenge is becoming really popular, I did have a look at it but when I realised i'd have to find roughly £107 in december I decided just to stick with my sealed pot :(
