Could you please help me as I am worried I am going to miss this offer.

The Collective offer does not display when I select that I have one pre pay meter, and one direct debit meter.

I am presuming this means I will not qualify for the offer since I they must both by direct debit.

How can I work around this? Obviously I can exchange my pre-pay meter, but it won't be done before the closing date of the offer in 2 days.

    Could you help me please.

    Hi YKay

I'm afraid that as one of your fuels is currently on a prepayment meter, it wouldn't be possible for your to switch to the MSE Collective tariff.

Unfortunately at present, to switch from prepayment to credit tariffs, you'd first need to arrange for the physical meter to be switched out.

For more details on this please see our guide.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks b33r,

Can you tell me why it looks like I have to go through a credit search/setting up an account again though on the cheap energy club page? It seems to want a lot of information just to switch tariff, plus there are two lots of £30 early exit fees listed, although I am already with BG.

    Thanks again

    Hi Hieveryone

As an existing British Gas customer you shouldn't normally be credit checked for a simple tariff change. However this information is needed for British Gas to load your application via MoneySuperMarket given that it isn't being completed with it directly.

    Hope this helps.
  • I have had the same problem as some have here with my Gas being switched to the new tariff but not the Electricity. I contacted Matt by email a few weeks ago and he replied promptly and said that it should be resolved by end of November. It wasn't so I emailed him again 2 days ago and haven't received a reply.

This is becoming a farce now especially as I am already a British Gas customer so it shouldn't be too hard to just switch me to a new tariff!

    Hi Pejazzle

That's really disappointing to hear - I'd suggest making a formal complaint to British Gas about this. As you say this should be simple given you're already a BG customer!

It's directly in to your bank using the sort code and account number you supplied at the time of the switch.

I heard British Gas have changed requirements for the Warm Home Discount.

Myself and partner claim Income Based JSA, Housing Benefit & Council Tax. We are both under 26, unemployed and have no children, no disabilities, no medical conditions.

Are we entitled to claim? If so, when is the shut of date, and when is the £140 discount paid?
