On the British Gas Collective Fix December 2016 tariff, can anyone tell me for certain whether the gas and electricity kWh unit prices (shown for my area as 2.856p and 8.852p respectively) include VAT, please ?0

As an existing BG customer, I can confirm that the switch is painless. I applied yesterday, and although I have had no kind of confirmation emails or anything, when I log into my online British Gas account I can see both Electric and Gas tariffs are now Collective Fix Dec 2016.
I just worked out the last 12 months on this new tariff, I would have saved £270 on gas and £320 on electric, £590 in total. Quite happy with that!0 -
The switch may be painless, but I have just received an email off Matt BG rep, saying that my online account, which has had different problems with it since switch, does not support the tariff at present, their tech guys are attempting to put fixes in place but can give no time scales, in theirwords we appear to have put the cart before the horse offering the new tariff before the website can cope with it, so if aanybody else is missing data such predict bills or adjust direct debit you now know the reason why0

Thanks, think that's me too, they said they'd referred my query to tech support but heard nothing since...0 -
They referred mine last week, really a pain ,site telling me only got gas account which Ihave not got both, but my energy usage is only recording my electric0

I did the switch to the BG Collective Fix on Wednesday and got my quarterly bill from npower, my current provider, today. On the tariffs that I am on I am due to save about £17 per month. (The Energy Club reckons £20 odd but I don't know where they've dug those figures from!)
But on the npower bill there is clear mention of two tariffs I could switch to with them which would save me nearly £160! There is no particular emphasis of this fact and it's strange why it wasn't pointed out more forcibly. The expiry of the gas tariff is 8 months further away (which is a benefit) and it's there that the principal saving is made. The expiry of the electricity tariff is two months earlier which is nothing. But maybe this two months was why?
The net result is that the Energy Club offer, taking into account the £30 cash-back, saves me £8 per annum against switching within npower! It's a no-brainer with all the hassle saved.
And it also emphasises that the Energy Club may provide a useful service but don't rely on it, do your own research and calculations!
PS: I forgot to mention there is a £20 per fuel penalty for not seeing out the term (23/11/16 in fact)0 -
Re the above which agency do I advise that I'm not pursuing the change - MSE or British Gas? I've had nothing in the post yet of course as it's too early. So a phone number would be useful if it's BG and an e-mail address if it's MSE. Thank you.
Update: I've had the BG letter this morning and there are a variety of ways of cancelling the hardly started switch, including online!0 -
I now seem to be up and running with Bg should I now cancel my direct debit with SAINSBURYS energy0

Probably best to wait in case either they owe you money or vice versa. If you're in credit they'll refund straight to your bank account, and if you're in debit they'll take a payment. Otherwise they'll send you a cheque. Once you've had your final bill and all's square then cancel your direct debit0
