Hi Can I join in please
I'm 4 weeks in at my local SW group (3 weigh in's)
I have lost - 11lbs so far. After a 'Black Hole Saturday which continued into Sunday I'm struggling.
Any ideas to stay on track would be great

I was just a bog standard fatty who had a lifestyle of drinking too much and stopping at petrol stations for pork pies, crisps and pasties so I'd assumed everyone was the same:o.
[/QUOTE] Oh those were the days :rotfl:
Petrol stations have a lot to answer for in my book!! Years ago I used to do a 90 mile round trip to work and couldn't help but stop at a garage in the mornings for a sausage soda or something like that to eat in the car and then on the way home it was crisps etc! There is much healthier fare available to grab and go these days0 -

Welcome jill. :T on your 11lbs loss, only 3 to go for your first stone. That should motivate you!:)
I'm sure you'll get plenty of support on here. Sometimes just posting regularly helps to keep motivated and although we're not judgemental there is an element of accountability. Any ideas what triggered the 'black hole'?
I'd say the best way to keep motivated is to plan, plan, plan. That's for all your meals and if you're a snacker plan for those too. So every week I do a SW friendly meal plan and a shopping list to match.
I'm sure others will be along with their tips too:).0 -
Hi Maman
I had a small dinner party on Saturday night arranged weeks ago. I cooked tasty non SW food, including a very high syn dessert with cream. Me and hubby had the leftovers on Sunday and had a sweet tea.
I'm one of these people 'when I'm good I'm very very good and when I'm bad I loose control'
Monday was on plan, yesterday too many syns to count.
Today - Brunch - 2 egg omlette with bacon/onion, mushy peas
Tea - Mayflower curry with dried noodles and mushy peas
Dessert - jelly and fruit
syns - not had any yet
HEB - not had yet
HEA - Milk0 -
Welcome Jill. Agree with Maman you need to plan everything.
Mushy peas don't count as Speed food - they are Protein. On EE you should be having at least 1/3 Speed food.
You say you haven't had any syns today but I thought there were syns in the Mayflower curry and there are definitely syns in the jelly - even the sugar free jelly crystals are 1.5 for the pack which makes 4 portions so should be synned at 0.5 syn per portion.
What fruit did you have with it? If it was tinned that would be syns as well.
Hope you don't mind me pointing this out.

so 2 syns for the Mayflower Curry.
Are peas and onion speed
In the SF jelly I put frozen berries, I will have 2 portions so 1 syn
so that makes 3 syns so far. See how easy it is to forget0 -

Peas are not Speed but Protein so don't count towards your 1/3. You should try to have more Speed foods other than just the onions and frozen berries. The plan will work without the 1/3 Speed but works far better if you can increase the level.

Thanks everyone, both for SOTW (well done muso girl) and the best wishes for my gran, mum rang this evening, gran has decided not to have treatment and wants to be at home with palliative care. She's 87 and feels like she doesn't want to go through it all again (the tumour on her chest wall is believed to be secondary cancer from when she had breast cancer years ago)
We will hopefully find out in the next few days what sort of time frame we're looking at... Just feel very sorry for my poor mum
