Morning all!
Well done b_e_g on SOTW!! :j
Hello kaymarie and mavvers80 and well done to all you losers!
Shala thanks for the new thread and the challenge
joedenise totally on the ball there about the speed food, I ended up having bean chilli with white rice for tea before I conked out at 6pm but I had no speed at all yesterday. Making sure I have it with every meal today, and planning to nip to the shops to stock up.
Maman you're right about green days, yesterday is definitely being claimed as a green day as it's the only way to keep myself in my syns!! I ate a toffee crisp which was 9.5 when I got in. Planning is definitely the key for the rest of this week.
I'm meeting a friend for lunch today and then volunteering this afternoon...will be entering hundreds of sheets into a database so planning to stock up on speed fruit to munch as I go, otherwise I'll get the boredom munchies!
Plan for today (ee) is
b: fruit and yog
l: jacket spud with cheese (6) and beans, large salad
d: hm spicy tomato pasta (lots of speed in the sauce) with either salad or broccoli and sweetcorn.
HEXA will be milk in tea and coffee and HEXB will a couple of Alpen Light Cereal Bars as a snack.
Syns will probably be saved for a toffee crisp later
Have a great day everyone xxxx0 -
Ah great, thank you for the information! I shall find a local one and go along to the meeting. All seems a bit daunting! I would love the recipe if anyone has it. I make my own hummus at the moment so it may be similar and syn free already!
Thanks for the helpMy debt free diary

rdone Welcome! I have a vegan friend on SW and she follows EE. I'm not vegan but try to limit my dairy as I have a mild lactose intolerance. It works exactly the same as the regular plan, just choose a non-dairy source for your HEA. You can now have nuts and cooked fruits as HEB on the new EE plan, although you only get one choice a day instead of two on the old green plan.
Now on to my update. Probably going to be EE again today...
Breakfast - Quark, berries and HEB granola
Lunch - Free sausages, butternut squash and green veg
Dinner - Bolognese with HEA cheese. Haven't decided whether it will be on a potato (don't like pasta) or not. If it is, then I'll have an EE day. Otherwise I'll have another HEB (hifi/alpen) and call it SP.
Trying Quark, hoping the higher protein may help balance the lactose as that certainly used to work with greek yoghurts. I haven't found a non-dairy yoghurt I actually like, and this qualifies as a P food for SP days.
Undecided on syns. Probably Lebkuchen again, because I'm obsessed. :rotfl:0 -
STS for me this week
Not the greatest start to the challenge but there we have it.
He a skimmed milk
Heb not sure yet
B mullerlight and banana
L sw chicken curry (from Iceland) sw chips
D sw quiche with salad
Syns babybels (6) grapes, satsumas
Really trying to mprove my speed foods because I think that is what makes my weightless slow. Trouble is apart from veg and salad, the fruits I like are just free not speed. Keep plodding!0 -
The Hello - I'm back!
My SW holiday is over, now it's time to get back on track and focus on some serious weight loss. My WI this morning was a bit of a shock, but I think it might be worse because I've been travelling for a few days (I'm now in Spain) and using different scales. Anyway, my total loss since this time last year is now 1st 12, so I've gained [STRIKE]quite[/STRIKE] a few pounds.:o
I'll be weighing on Wednesdays from now on.
Shala - thanks for all you do to keep us in line. :A

Hi everyone! Hoping to rejoin you all. I started going to my local group last December before finding out I was pregnant 3 weeks later! Tried to keep going but morning sickness was pretty bad and couldn't keep anything down except hula hoops and haribo. Still managed to lose 11.5 lbs before I stopped going and by some miracle when I rejoined 2 weeks ago I was exactly the same weight!
Anyway, 2 weeks in and I have lost 9lbs so far. Would like to join the Xmas challenge with a target of 14lbsplease.
Menu for today:
Breakfast - 1 x hifi (HEB), banana
Snack - 1 x hifi (HEB)
Lunch - left over chicken chow mein (0.5 syns)
Snack - Dairy milk (5), clementines, Activia 0 %
Dinner - Italian wonderpot (spaghetti cooked in tomatoes and veg), parmesan (HEA), FF greek yoghurt, frozen berries
Snack - Popcorn (2.5) Jelly (0.5)0 -
Just done a post and lost it:(.
Welcome back LL. You'll soon get back into the swing of things and lose those extra pounds.
rdone. The hummous you already make may be syn free, assuming you don't add any tahini to it. If you use tahini it's 1 syn per Tbs.
The recipe is basically a tin of chickpeas, some garlic & a little water blitzed in a processor or blender. Add salt, pepper & lemon juice to taste.
You can also make a red pepper version by blitzing a chopped roasted pepper (roasted in Frylight) in with the chickpeas.
You can make a lot of what you already eat suitable for SW by just making a few changes like substituting Frylight for oil, using stock to mashed potatoes, swede etc.

Great seeing everyone's menu plans, helps with ideas as I think getting stuck in a rut can be my downfall. Today's menu plan is EE as below:
Breakfast: mixed speed fruit (mainly frozen berries) and muller light yoghurt
Lunch: Home made veg soup with Finn crisps (HeaB)
Dinner: Spag Bol with homemade sauce with extra veg plus Parmesan (HeaA)
Snacks: Apple, banana
Syns: I've got a few snack size chocolate selections so one or two from this like mini pack of maltesers
Hoping to have a good week so I'm on track before my holiday so not too much damage is done when I'm back. Don't fly till Sunday night so got time to lose something before I go. Away for a week then straight back into it (hopefully.0 -
Thanks for the shiny new thread shala and hello everyone :hello:
Weigh in for me today - 1.5lb loss which I'm very happy with. I've been drinking a lot of lemon/lime infused water this week which I think has helped a great deal. I've had 3 dodgy days this week where I've gone over syns, really need to pack that in as it just makes me feel worse afterwards.
Well done BEG for SOTW :T and congrats other losers, hugs to the gainers and STSers.
Hope you all have a great week0 -
