Just booking my spot to keep track of the thread.

    First proper weigh Thursday.

I think I've lost around 4lb, but have to see it on the 'official' scales...
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

  • Hi all, do you mind if I join you? I joined slimming world at the beginning of the year and have lost just over two and a half stone so far. However I'm often very up and down as my motivation can come and go. So I thought posting on here might help me keep on the straight and narrow as while the overall trend is downwards I do have my slip ups!

I would like to join the challenge if I may? I've just come back from my usual group and lost 4 pounds which is great after a slip up last week where I put on a bit! I would like to lose 12 pounds in the challenge overall. . Not sure if I've managed to change the size and colour there? First time using the forum!

That might be optimistic as I am on holiday next week and so won't weigh in next week but I'd like to try and hopefully this thread will help keep me accountable. I often find it hard to get back into it after a break so hopefully the challenge will help. I've got quite a bit to lose you see.

Hopefully be back on here regularly after I get the hang of it. looking forward to joining in with the chat properly.

Thanks, Shala, for taking charge of us again – Santa had better watch out!

    Congrats, b_e_g, on SOTW.

    Well done, dillon and orlao.

Hello, queen of cheap, Rebster, NewShadow, Mavvers, Arkers, Tulip and kaymarie. Sorry if I’ve got confused and said, “Hi,” already – and even more sorry if I’ve missed you out! It's good to meet you all.

    Today’s indulgences
Breakfast: bubble & squeak (cabbage, mashed potato & onion) & a fried egg
Lunch: hexb toast with tin of spaghetti, ML Greek raspberry yogurt
Dinner: campfire stew & mustard mash (1 +++++ - used “real” sausages), green beans & broccoli
    Snack: fun size Maltesers (5)

  • Well done to BEG for SOTW!!!!

Thanks to Shala for the new chart/thread/general fab around host I noted STS for my first week on Monday, not sure if I needed to say it here too or if it would have been carried over??

Diet going 50/50. Yesterday I had too many syns, and my syn bank now stands at 82 to last till Monday. Damn you pop tart!!! Food went like this:

    Lunch: SW chips and egg
Dinner: Chicken sandwich (8 syns for wholemeal bun ), space raiders x 2, 3 satsumas.
Snacks: More satsumas and a pop tart
Syns: 8 for bun , 6 for space rainers, 10 for pop tart.
HEA B: 2 sw bars.... no HEA.

Can you carry a HEA over or would that not work? Just thinking some of us carry syns over.

Today I'm off on a 2 hour train journey to try some alternative therapy as I'm fed up of being poorly and the drugs arent doing anything for me. I'm desperate. So i've got a packed lunch ready for the train so I'm not tempted with the sweet trolley :rotfl:. Will have to buy some food there as its a day thing but not sure what to buy. Usually grab a greggs, need to not do that today :rotfl:

    BEG Well done of SOTW:j
Welcome to all our new people and good luck with your journey:hello:

CP - unfortunately you can't carry over HEs. Be good if you could! The the only way you can extra an extra HEA and HEB is to do Green or Red days or to get an extra HEB is to do EESP!

Have made some changes from my planned meals today as have some stuff in the fridge I'd like to use up before going shopping tomorrow!

It will be another EE day:
B: bacon, egg, mushrooms & beans
L - LO sweet chilli noodles/veg - will need a little more sweet chilli sauce so 1 syn
D - HM chicken & veg curry/rice which will use up the last of the roast chicken and bits and pieces of veg which need using up - aubergine, courgette etc. Will also be making veg pakoras from the SW website and making extra to take to taster tomorrow morning.

HEA - milk in tea as usual
HEB - not sure if I'll need it but if I do will have some crispbreads this evening

Syns - sweet chilli sauce 1; possibly butter 2

I'd like to join in please. I'm vegan so not sure how the syns would work. I've looked through the healthy extras and I only have porridge off it which comes under HEB and some Oat milk which is HEA It's very rare I eat bread.

Is there a list of what counts as a syn?

I've also signed up to a triathlon (the first time I've ever done anything like it) so will be exercising a lot.

Can I put down a loss of 6 pounds please? I've never watched my weight before (I normally just go on how my clothes fit me) so will be interested to join and see!

For Breakfast I have had Original Porridge with Oat milk. So that counts as my HEA and HEB for the day. Although I didn't have all of the milk allowed. Not that I'll have any more milk today though!
Lunch is salad with hummus (does that count as a syn?!)
And no idea what I'll be having for tea as it'll depend on if Mr. T turns up before I get hungry! The cupboards are bare from being on holiday.

Good luck with the challenge everyone! I hope I can keep up.

    Morning,

Pleased to say I went to the gym last night and had a good speedy tea. Chicken Curry with Cauli Rice and a side of green beans and broccoli.

So I'm weighing this Friday and will let you all no how I get on and then not weighing for another 2 weeks. Keeps me saner and more focused when I'm not getting annoyed by the scales. I suspect they won't have changed much but I am feeling lighter, tighter and more toned so can't complain.

Have had my HEb bread this morning as felt it was a morning for toast - I've an Audit rest of the day:mad:

Lunch is braising steak, carrot & parsnip mash, mixed veg and cabbage

    Dinner is stirfry

Welcome to the thread. We're a friendly bunch here.

You're OK with the oats and milk for your breakfast - as you say HEA/HEB.

Lunch is good as salad is Speed foods - which you need to have at least 1/3 of a plate of. The hummous will be synned. The number of syns will depend on how much you have and what brand it is. If you can post again with those details I, or someone else, will be able to let you know the syns.

There is a SW version of hummous which is syn free. If you'd like the recipe just ask.

It might be worth going along to your local SW group just to get the member talk & the books as you'll then have a better idea of how it all works. As a vegan I would also ask the consultant to go through the Green plan with you as there is then a bigger range of HEBs you can have such as cooked fruit, nuts etc which you can't have on EE.
