I name myself as a Teaching Assistant cause that's what I am but am a musician, too. It makes it cheaper, obviously.

So when to and from you paid gigs you're driving without insurance. Well done chap.

It gets better - a teaching assistant. Someone who should be setting a good example.

I should check your insurance policy as some ask about other part-time work. It would be such a shame if you had cause to claim on your policy coming home from a gig and found you weren't covered - you'd have more to worry about than a few points.

What happens when I were to get a fine in one day for the Friday and then another the next day? What time do I have if I were to accept a speed awareness course before the 6 points tally up? Do they offer a course straight away?

Your licence will be revoked and rightly so as you appear to be an uninsured persistent speeder.

    Hey all,

So this evening, I was returning home from work, and I was going along a stretch of road that is 30mph limit but it's a flyover dual carriageway and everyone does 40/50mph (no excuses, no lies, I was speeding, too). But someone, I think which was an undercover motorcyclist, comes beside of me and looks into my car and at me. By this time, I think he's a copper so I reduce to about about 35mph and then he follows me for a few minutes along the same road, I take a left to go home and then we part. He didn't pull me or anything but he did follow me and and take a good look at me and my car. Was he taking details of the car, reg plate etc? Do police motorcyclists have speed cameras? Should I expect a fine through the door?

    Any info would be appreciated?

You'll either be offered a course or not - it's not guaranteed (depends on availability).

So, assuming there were two offences, you're looking at either 3 or 6 points. The only way to avoid the points is to opt for court and be found not guilty, which isn't going to happen. When you're found guilty then the court has no discretion, you'll get the points (and a lot of expense) and the revocation follows as soon as the court notifies the DVLA.

Why not claim to be a retired vicar? It will be cheaper still, and no more fraudulent.

There is a difference between 'appropriate' and 'inappropriate' speeding, though. However, I'm not justifying myself: I was speeding.

And, if you must know, last night was lending my equipment out and not actually playing. I'll be playing in a few months.

Cause I'm more a Teaching Assistant than a musician (as in I spend more hours in the school, than in my studio or in a band scenario). What would you put on the application for occupation?

I fail to believe that 99% wouldn't put the same as me to 'save money'. As that is what this website is.

It's a money saving site not a fraud site.

Are you saying you never speed when the road you're driving on is more like a motorway and it has a speed limit of 30mph? I highly doubt it. I even remember my driving instructor saying the exact road "should be 40mph at least".

So just when is it appropriate for you to break the law?

You've admitted to it four times so far.
