No doubt when the free update ends in June there will be people on here complaining that they were denied their right to free upgrade by evil MS

Unlikely, if people don't have Windows 10 by that point it's likely by choice. I'm looking forward to the free update ending in June (if it actually does, I suspect it won't) to get rid of the nagware they give you no choice over and the only way to block it is to install a custom tool.

Then, in that case - Win 10 should be classed as a PUA and MS should be informed as such ?
And if they persist in trying to infect your device with this virus - someone ought to sue them ??

Well that's the way I see it, it downloads without my permission and gives you no option to disable or uninstall it and keeps producing pop-up windows for software I don't want.

On a similar track - have you ever tried to clear COOKIES, CACHE and INTERNET HISTORY from Edge ?
I have discovered that, even using Ccleaner - they hang on for grim death !!!
That worries me - why would MS not allow you to clear your browser ?

Why not use the inbuilt option to clear them?

If you aren't happy with edge why use it at all - there are plenty of alternate browsers. As it only comes with Windows 10 which you clearly detest why not install an alternate OS - plenty of those too.

You seem to be feeling very persecuted. May I suggest a tinfoil hat would fit very well with your apparent current mindset.

In that case I'd suggest you don't use Edge. I certainly don't except on very rare occasions as it is IMO a PoS.

I just tried it with one of my own sites and asking it to clear cookies did clear the ones I'd set as I could tell from the site behaviour. Of course Edge doesn't offer the ability to view them so it's possible tracking cookies and the like do remain - as I said it's a PoS.

You can check using ccleaner !!
They remain so are a security risk ..

I checked using CC and all that is there for me after clearing cookies, history, cache, etc. are empty placeholder files for the cache and history. Perhaps you didn't do it correctly.

In any case cookies are not a security risk.
