  • It's the duty of all prisoners of war to escape. Is there a friend you could go stay with for a few days or does the menagerie preclude that? You need to rest and that needs to be stress free. I know this sounds drastic but could you even get a key from a friend whose house is empty during the day and just go there with a book for a few hours.
Also, what beanie said but you really need to focus on the short term for now.
As for pain killers, I tend to find pain easier to deal with than the side effects of the tablets but I will treat myself to a reflexology session if I can though that should maybe wait until after the ankle appointment.
Can your sisters not occupy your mum to let you recuperate? Ask them. Your life isn't in business as usual mode at present and people need to see that.
Ok, here endeth the nagging. Take care of you. Even if it costs money, try to find some kind of treat for yourself to reward your bravery. I think it's great that without much support, you went through with the surgery. You need to celebrate being so much stronger than you realise.

  • I do get that things with your Mum are difficult, but surely you have a very valid reason for taking things easy at the moment. Can this nit be spelled out to Mum? Xx

Not at all Beanie. I understand completely where you are coming from.

I have tried writing this twice and lost it! so this is the short version.

Today has been better, Mum popped out and I got some much needed alone time. Wound looks good, tho I feel dreadful. No clue why!

going to post this so I don't lose it.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Anyhow today has been better cos of my room, can sit in it without getting fed up with the clutter. I still need to lose more stuff but it looks decent enough. Makes a huge difference when I can chill out up here.

Mum has never liked illness - people can't be ill. She is never ill (she is but hopefully you know what I mean!) and this is no different.

She went out this morning and I got to just be for a bit which was nice.
    Lovely in fact!

I didn't make it out for lunch, been ill all day. And on that note am going back to bed!

thank you all by the way. XXX

Buffy, you've had a real scare and an operation and you should be able to relax and recover, in fact you should be waited on not chased out of the house. That's insensitive and self-centred to the point of abuse.

I second INOD on rewarding your own bravery and I hope that new options will arrive for you soon.

  • Call up your la-tee-da sister, tell her you are ill and need time to recover and ask her to occupy your mom. Oh, did I write that out loud ?

    Thinking of you! :heartpuls

  • Hilarious.

after/during writing all that yesterday, I developed a full blown migraine in a couple of hours. Throwing up and everything.

Now with this Mum is on solid ground. This illness is doable as you get better. And it is clear what needs to be done. quiet. darkness and possibly drugs. I have had migraines for years.

Mum is only responding to me, I probably at some point told her not to help or whatever - I don't remember Thursday at all. I am VERY Stubborn and determined to do everything myself and not be a problem or inconvenience for anyone ever. Plus the instructions from the doctor said to get back to normality and she has just been encouraging that. I am not a good patient.

She fed the animals and I went to bed with a sleeping tablet. Woke up this morning feeling woozy but not in pain go me!

Although the sleep aid tablet which is a muscle relaxant makes me feel woozy in waves the day after so no driving. And in fct I may just go back to bed for a bit.

Do whatever it takes to get yourself back on your feet Buffster xx Your mum should be looking after you - you would do the same for her.
