Toothache makes you feel miserable, you need to get it sorted ASAP. Sorry to hear your mum is out of sorts, but it's true, it could be fluid levels, worth considering. Hope you feel better soon xx
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I bug her to drink water and she now has a bottle of water, this makes her drink more but it is also means to she leaves it sitting there for days! I need to find her a washable bottle.

I am back at the dentist on Tuesday, but i think I have to face having the tooth out.

Beanie - I borrowed 5500 from the CC on 0% I paid for the new rabbit set up, garden "stuff" the little fish pond, paid some back (by accident!) I have 4000 of it left 3000 in a normal savings account, 1000 (plus my proper emergency fund) in the tsb account to make 6% per month.

The 4000 is for the dentist.......am paying the CC at a rate of 500 per month. The idea was it sat in a higher interest rate account (was going to open an RBS account I think) but then the treatment was going to happen much quicker.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Buffy, I don't want to rain on a parade but have you truly thought through the implants? You appear to have struggled for a month with toothache sooner than face a dentist, will the implants be any easier?

I have been back to the dentist twice, both times for antibiotics, the first lot got eaten by the dogs. This lot don't really seem to be working - although it could be that the infection has cleared up but now the nerve is exposed in the holey tooth.......and that is what is hurting.

Unfortunately I am just going to have to suck it up. I will have valium...........I may just ask to have the teeth out rather than sod about with root canal(this was the initial plan, as i wanted to save the tooth, please anyone reading this with children who still have baby teeth, have them taken out, they are absolute bloody nightmare - of the three of us my eldest sister never had problems as hers came out, my other sister and I - ours were left and we have gaps and all sorts going on) ......It is the more expensive option but the fact that ironically the implants are quicker than root canal (in terms of time in the chair) and the root canal might fail. Especially as it has been left so long now (two lots of antibiotics plus the age it took me to find a dentist. I am so upset about losing another tooth tho.

Do you know what in the tooth related whinging i forgot to say I saw the Lion King this weekend - UTTERLY AMAZING.

in fact aside from toothache this weekend has been good.

You have been putting everything into place and your numbers look great! I'm very inspired by all that you do Buffy. You have had tremendous stress and pain for awhile now but you find a way to keep it all moving forward. You're amazing! Soon next week's op will be over and that stress will be lifted. (I know I know...that doesn't help in the mean time  )

Supporting and appreciating you from New Mexico! :T:j:T:j:T

  • Aim for the root canal. The more teeth you have, the better. It'll be more expensive but cheaper than another implant. Also, make sure you take before and after pics and pin them up somewhere that you can see every day. It'll remind you that you can make things better.

    Take care.

I bit down on a piece of meat last night and had serious pain with one of my teeth. It has a huge filling so I know I'm looking at a root canal...I hope. I don't want to have to do an implant!

  • Stage one of the root canal has been DONE.

Was shaking SO much and had to hang on to the dental nurse. They are REALLY good tho, very relaxed and reassuring.

thank you so much for the comments - you swung me for root canal. It may not work as tooth is very far gone but at least from today I shouldn't be in heaps of pain!

I am not allowed to eat hard food on that side of my mouth but haven't been for ages any way!

the only shame of it is that I don't see the specialist till the 18th so will be managing it the whole summer but hey ho.

need to look at money now. XXX
