"Ghandi's kitchen" n " nice blonde bimbo" AC you do crack me up! :rotfl:
Good job AC isn't president of the good ole U S of A or the world and his wife would be condemning him as racist and a misogynist.
JustAboutThere - thanks for your kind words. Yes I'm looking after myself, plenty of rest, a bit of walking, Physio twice a week, healthy eating, decluttering.
I have made a cracking start on my "One Year To Change My Life Challenge". It's all systems go.
I'm loving it.0 -
Sounds like you're getting on top of things AC with property viewings and budgets. Not sure what you get for service charges either so won't go there except to say that as long as things fit in your budget then nothing should be ruled out. Changing bathrooms isn't mega-expensive - especially if you go for classic white and with a brother in trade.
Just reviewed my January spending and if it hadn't been for cat's teeth and car batteries I would be a very happy dreaming indeed.. Instead I shall have to settle for mildly contented.
Had a quick lurk on LL's Frump to Fab thread as I need to make some significant changes too - especially now that eldest (who lives with me) has today been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. She is very limited in what she will eat and is very much a carb-aholic - just what she needs to reduce quite a lot. Unfortunately her mental state is such that she is unlikely to take heed of looking after herself even if her health suffers. Cue much frank talking (from me) whilst she was a captive passenger in the car on the way back from the hospital appointment. So I am going to have to look at a major overhaul of the foods I have in the house (although she will just go out and buy junk I suppose) but there is a limit to how much I can control things. Still, it will benefit me too as I need to lose weight (says she just eating a Wispa Gold - sshh!).0 -

Dreaming - hope your daughter (and cat of course ) are ok .
Speaking of dentists , I need a lot of work done . I will need fillings ,hygienist deep clean etc. I also have to have a bridge to replace one of my front teeth that came out . If you want to know more , I could tell you . Quite off putting for some how I lost that tooth:)
I will visit dentist probably next week .0 -
Feeling Terrible today . No sleep after 2.30 am .
Confirmed 2 nd viewing on flat for sat morning .I found a gym with all the mod coms where I will be checking out on Friday . It's near John Lewis at
branksome . If I like it , I will join on Monday and will at last have a goal to go for fitness wise . Can't do much walking in this rainy weather at the moment . Don't know what time landlady coming tomorrow . That'll be interesting ,and at least I'll be getting that out of the way .0 -
AC, I think once you move into your own place then things will look much better and more settled. Good luck with the second viewing on Saturday.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Thanks Mrs. P
Things seem to be improving on the whole . Then a couple of sleepless nights , and doubt and worry creep in . Understandable I guess .0 -

I also have dentist next week. Should only be a check-up and hopefully cost a bit less than the cat's. Do tell about the missing tooth - I somehow don't see you as a brawler so I'm guessing it wasn't a fistfight. Was it while you were still working and biting the carpet in frustration?
Think it is still worth viewing flat with landlady as it might be ok (and I know you like the area). Just try to be a bit cagy over price and what you are looking to pay. Do a bit of frowning and head-shaking, and if you decide it is too much you can always act disappointed and say that it would take too much cash to get it how you would like it. 2nd viewing is good though - remember what Phil & Kirstie say about 2nd viewings - head not heart.0 -
Thanks dreaming . The tooth: I stupidly was trying to bite a wire on my
turntable , trying to pull one of the coloured ones to make it longer while changing the plug. All of a sudden , the front tooth flies across the room..
Not painful , but I was in shock . Yes I was that stupid
Had a post put on the tooth and it kept falling out and the dentists oukd do no more. So , I think a bridge is the way forward.
As I was in debt for so long , haven't been to dentist for about 6 years .
Practice moved on anyway, and so have I . I was going every six months.
One thing I do notice : once the huge recession came, they were trying to get me to come every 3 months for a checkup. It has always been that ,and will e from now on .
Saturday will be my third 2nd viewing . I think I'm still in a position not to panic , but have to watch budget etc
Will keep you updated on tomorrow's scenario0
