AC its an app (NHS) that aims to get you fit. It starts off with walking and running for 20 mins a day and then at the end of the period (8 weeks I think) you are able to run 5k - I will be running or shuffling it at a snail's pace but I am hoping I will be able to stick it. Some exercise is better than none at all. I know you have joined your gym, but this is just another option.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Thanks Mrs. P
That sounds good . I joined the gym , too early and to be honest , the walking may be better for me at this time.
I assume you have to have a watch like device to monitor . (Fitbit ?)
Good luck with it . You'll do great , I'm sure0 -
Hello AC,
Sorry to hear you've been so poorly. So much of it around but I'm not surprised it's hit you so hard this year with all that's gone on. As soon as your body realises there's a resting period then all hell breaks loose. Better out than in though with all those toxins and then upward for your new start in your new place in the new year.
You've missed nothing here in the large building site either.
I'm so sorry you're feeling so low LL. I can't imagine how hard it must be to not just be losing your Dad, but to have those memories brought back to the surface. I don't get much time to update anymore but I read as often as I can and you're in my thoughts.

Thanks muffin
I think smodlet is right about hibernating for sometime.
So, about an hour ago, I came back from the shops .
I open the fridge door.. No light inside.
I hunt around for a fuse ,just Incase it's only that .
Fuse is fine - fridge freezer is busted. God only knows how .
I assume it packed up overnight. I checked the trip switches etc. So it's definitely the fridge freezer that is dead.
It used to go off, if I put the washing machine on .
So, told landlady and letting agents ( she asked me by text to phone them).
I assume I'll get a visit from the electrician at some stage.
However, if the fridge freezer is busted , then I don't think he can repair that. We'll see
I assume I have until tomorrow morning with the frozen stuff, then it will have to be discarded.
Oh well.0 -
Just been to the kitchen . Fridge making noises. Bulb not on, but if the fridge is making noise then , maybe all is well.
Landlady gave me no.s of 2 electricians . I sent one of the a polite text,
hopefully he can check it out next week.
If the fridge is working , then I am a happy bunny .

Your landlady does not seem too bothered about the quality of the appliances she provides, does she? First the vacuum cleaner, now the FF. Have you tried putting a cup with about an inch of water in it, in the FF to see if it freezes? If it does, it could be just the bulb that needs replacing.

I think your LL needs to get her electrics sorted AC. My daughter and son in law had similar issue with dishwasher and washing machine in that they could not work at the same time due to plumbing though not electrics when they moved into their new house 2 years ago. Luckily my husband is a dab hand at DIY so he replumbed both and sorted out electrics so circuit not overloaded.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Just a quick update.
Dad died earlier this afternoon. It was quick and painfree, just as I'd hoped it would be. I can't do anything now until Tuesday.
I'm feeling quite grim with a chest infection so just going to rest up for a few days.
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve....I shall be happy to just be quiet and watch some crap TV and raise a glass to all my absent loved ones.
See you all next year.
2017 is the year I shall kick a** and finally get my retirement started.
Bye for now x0 -
My sincere condolences, lessonlearned. I don't often comment, but I've been through the end of life process with my step father and my mother, and it's hard. I send my best wishes and sympathy to you. I'm relieved that he went peacefully and painfree. A consolation for you in this difficult period.
