Amazing really : I joined the local gym, must be 2 weeks ago now and can't see myself going till next Monday . This flu hasn't gone away totally ,
plus dare I say , the m g is making me lethargic / tired also.
I'm hoping that the condition is not gonna get any worse .
I'm not tied to the gym ,as I only signed for a month.
TBH it's too basic for my needs . There aren't really any cardio machines other than a treadmill / bike / cross trainer . It's mainly weights . I may continue there , but with my condition the machines are easier to use.
I may get yoga mat out of storage and look on you tube and do some yoga like I did last year .
I was gonna get stuff from storage today ( need help from my friend), but my friend is feeling rough . Need help as stuff I need is right down the other end of the room and I cannot get stuff out on my own. We're gonna go for tomorrow . I'm missing my bass guitars now
Forgot to mention : I will start walking a lot more . Everyone says it's the best way to lose weight . When I walk into ashley cross or the shops I am very breathless, so I should do it everyday . When I came out of hospital the first time I had the same symptoms . Something I have to keep an eye on .0 -
Hi AC.
A Bit of advice.......commercial gyms are a perfect Breeding ground for all manner of bugs.......and hygiene is not always a top priority in these places.
Your immune system is compromised and you need to take care. Maybe the gym isn't such a good idea for now.
For the time being it is probably safer for you to walk outdoors and train at home. Yoga, u tube videos etc. You can buy small hand weights, or a kettle ball and a resistance band for strength training.
Take it slowly, little and often and build up gradually.
Had a nice gentle Christmas, although a lot of it was spent visiting dad in hospital. He's not too good, not sure if he will come home again or have to go into a hospice...... I'll know more in a day or so.0 -
Thanks LL .:)
Glad your dad saw Christmas at least . Rooting for you as always .0 -
LL (& all!!) I am glad you had a good Christmas :xmastree:. I know you said you were putting the house hunting on hold but surely you can't turn down this loo with a view

Thanks for that - just what I need today.
Don't want to say more - it's ACs thread. But I do feel very low today. Dad's impending demise is bringing back all the agony of losing my husband. TBH I am struggling to hold it all together.
So ...........thanks for making me smile.
The cat is cuddling me at the moment, he's like a limpet, follows me all round the house - worse than a toddler.
Animals just know don't they ......0 -
Well done, GG, and handy for you, LL...
All I want is a loo with a view,
A sight worth seeing... OMG, ewwwww!0 -
Gally , that was hilarious . I'm back in 1972:)
LL , these next weeks will be hard as hell , but after that your year will be great . Cats rool
So, still got flu . My friend gave me a hand today to get some stuff back .
The man came to service the dyson . The landlady says there may be a flat
In the block opposite in the spring . She said I should look around . She did say the block I'm in is very good . I like it here, and have been here a month tomorrow . I somehow think it will take more than 6 months to get myself together again . Who knows ?
Feeling tired ,weak,lazy and fluish . Apart from that ,I'm fine0 -
Hi AC, all.
LL, you had a Dad, not just a father, for a very long time. Please try to remember the good times, there may still be some to come; a laugh, a smile, a shared memory... I hope so, anyway.
I think, especially at this time of year, AC, that you could do worse than give in to the urge to hibernate. This becomes stronger every autumn for OH and, increasingly, for me, too. Just take it easy, sleep when you want, eat well, loads of veggies and fruit to boost your immune system, please, and plenty of water. Watch sshh on the telly if you want to. Play your bass (quietly) if it makes you happy. Above all, please be well soon.
Why 1972, please?0 -
AC I have downloaded the Couch to 5K app. I am hoping to start on 1st January. I am hoping this resolution will last longer than mine normally do.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Smodlet, 1972.. When I was a child , we grew up with wallpaper like that property in my house
Mrs. Porridge , couch to 5k app? I'm confused. Please explain
Believe it or not, I now have one of my bass guitars with me.
Went back to bed for an hour ( plus) this afternoon . My headache is just disappearing now after my dinner.
As I was getting out of bed , I almost missed an Amazon delivery .
