    Thanks guys....

As for me time.........I have a hair appt tomorrow.

Time to find out if blondes really do have more fun. Lol

Ps. I am a ""silver fox". Same colour as Daenerys in GOT. I used to be a redhead. I have decided I want to put some colour back. Think red won't be right anymore so going to see what the hairdresser can come up with. She mentioned blonde highlights to tone down the white.

Tomorrow I'm going to pluck up courage .......

Good for you LL. My brother and sister both went "silver" quite early but my hair stays resolutely faded brown with bits of grey. I used to dye my hair red but decided to go au naturel 3 years ago and had it cut short thinking it would grow out into silver. No such luck but I can't be bothered to colour it any more, and yeah - red is not such a good look past a certain age although Sharon Osborne seems to get away with it.
Well 2 Xmas cakes are now covered with almond paste (and the kitchen covered with a fine layer of icing sugar). I'm going for novelty cakes this year - the novelty being that I hope not to be icing them at midnight on Xmas Eve.:)
AC - hope you are feeling better and have got your power problems sorted. These sort of things are small in the grand scheme of things but can be mighty annoying at the time. And hope you got to meet up with your friends.
  • Hello everyone
LL sorry to hear about your dad. Spent many years pulling my hair out, so haven't much left:( used to have loads:)
    Good animal stories there.

Just got out of bed, after going back,in around 11.00 had about 1 hours sleep. The rest was coughing and spluttering. Being hung over as well doesn't help, but o have full blown flu and a horrible cough,

The switch in the power supply, keeps switching off, when using the washing machine . Could be a process of elimination, in fiinding out what's causing it. I'll,let landlady know on Tuesday .
I may disconnect broadband and see if that helps. She has a dishwasher which I won't use. So, to recap: everything is working, until I put washing machine on .
Oh, myself and my friend cannot see a filter on the outside of the wash ing machine . This is no pot there. I will have to, r t f m, when I'm in the mood tomorrow.
    Cheers
  • Regarding my settlement offers : Santander - offered £4,050
Mr. G p Rymer wants to means test me/ wants to know the
    Source of funds etc

Barclays : are prepared to reconsider , if I can increase
Offer. They want more information. All for £978.97

    Wescott : balance £ 5,851.82 (rbs)
They want to means test me also.
    Mr.j seekings

All creditors want to know how much I owe and to whom .

To sum up: it looks like it's best to ask Payplan to give me a settlement figure and pay it ??
One of the letters were telling me I was asking for partial settlement .
    Cheeky bar stewards .
The good thing , is that my regular payments via Payplan are not affected.
Not too fa off my annual review with Payplan anyway, so won't do anything till after Xmas .
  • I didn't tell my creditors the source of my funds or told them how much I had available to offer - I just offered them a certain amount and told them that was all I was prepared to offer and I was not giving them any further details.

Most then did write back to say they would accept my offer.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)

No AC. Just play the game and write back saying that is your offer and your not prepared to enter into supplying further information or doing a means test.

Time is in your side - no rush to settle.

AC. I don't get this "I'm just unlucky".

You are doing well, there's absolutely no need now to keep thinking of yourself as a victim, at the mercy of fate.

You are now the master of your own destiny.......so grab hold of those reins and take charge.

You have ditched the job and the boss from hell, you have more than enough money to pay back the debts you owe in full. You are merely trying to negotiate yourself a deal.

There's no need to be going to great long garbled explanations about the state of your bank balance. Just make them an offer and then wait and see. If you need to up your offer then so be it. They do not need to see your bank statements, you do not need to do a means test. You don't need to discuss anything with them.

Dont tie yourself in knots over this. Just Get a deal if you can, pay up and then move on. No one is trying to screw you over. They just want to get back as much as they can, just as you want to get away paying back as little as you can.

Stop fretting and torturing yourself, Reach a compromise, settle up And then get on with your life. However, I agree with Harz - Don't be in a mad rush, you are likely to get a better deal if you play it cool. You have a strong hand so play it well.

Dad not doing too well at all. Tbh I just want it to be over. DS2s girlfriend is a nurse and she asked how he was doing. As she so succinctly put it - we wouldn't put a dog through this. :o
