At least she has acknowledged them, AC, and it is now a matter of record. Hope you get it sorted soon... do you have contents insurance? Not sure if it would be worth claiming if you do; depends on the excess but it must be bloody annoying, when you were just getting settled.
Hope you feel better soon.

All of my stuff is in storage , so I don't think I need contents insurance for now. Nothing too drastic. I just hope the washing machine is ok, and that the stuff in the freezer doesn't go off .
Just a question of when the electrician comes and sorts it .0 -
Oh rotten luck AC. If the food in the freezer has defrosted you can always cook it and refreeze. Obviously I don't know what sort of food it is but stuff in a freezer can be ok for quite a while if the door is kept closed. Even the bacon in the fridge is likely to be ok. I was brought up without even a fridge when I was kid and we managed ok. In fact I hardly ever get "tummy troubles" - mainly because I have built up a strong tolerance to all sorts of food. As opposed to Wendy's family, and unfortunately to the detriment of my waistline - which, if anyone has seen it, could I please have back? :rotfl:
I hate fish though - everything about them - how they look, how they smell, how they taste. I can just about cope with fish finger sandwiches (which I have to share with the cat)0 -
Hope you sort the electrics out quickly AC.
dreaming is right about food being fine for longer than you think. The only things to watch are poultry and seafood.
In my defence as a sensible person, dreaming, it's not the people I brought up who fuss about food, but the people they marry, and their children.0 -

No defence needed Wendym - families (and their dynamics) are.....complicated. I thought I had brought up 2 well-balanced, sensible kids, who had minds of their own. Unfortunately the last bit of that sentence is probably the only true bit. Still they're mine and I love them dearly (very ££ dearly at this time of the year).
Decided I should put some Xmas decs. up today and got the battery box out for AA batteries for various twinkling light displays only to find I had no AA. I was sure I had bought some only a few months ago but DD who lives with has a habit of "borrowing" them for various gadgets - she is not in so I hunted everywhere to no avail. So I trot off to the shop (only round the corner so no big deal) - spend a tenner on batteries, come home, sort out lights etc. and decide to "hide" the spare batteries to avoid the borrowing and - you guessed it - I found the batteries I had bought and obviously hidden previously. Is it eggnog time yet?0 -
It's bound to be egg-nog time somewhere on the planet, dreaming and, if you were to add some savoury snacks into the mix, you could say it was also time for a salt and battery(z)... I think I have just reached my nadir. Sorry.0

Your washer should be fine, they usually have sensors in and will empty once poser has restored. If its mainly the WM & fridge then, for now, run extension leads. They are both normal plug machines so fine running off your mains (assuming its just the kitchen that has gone off), not ideal but with Christmas coming up at least you will be able to get by.0

The cat and I are currently testing some cheese and biscuits to see if they will pass muster for Xmas. He doesn't seem too keen on the biscuits but needs a bit more cheese to be sure.0 -
I'm not sure he should have too much of that, dreaming, but you know your tigger. They do seem to love cheese, don't they?0
