Cheapskate??? Who, moi.?? :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Ah hah! I know cake is supposed to work... My thanks, your gracious fairyness.
I hope you remember the healing spell for a sore back soon... Although I don't think you can do spells on yourself, can you? I have forgotten so much and am so too fat to fly, these days. Yes, I know that is rowlocks; it is my spirits which are too heavy.0 -
My late father-in-law worked for a wood merchants and could by offcuts cheaply. When we wanted to build a playhouse for the children he designed it, cut all the bits to size and they all went in the offcuts bin........... oh dear, that does sound bad but he did loads of work for them free of charge.
Sounds like a resourceful chap.:rotfl:0 -

Re the tenancy GG summed it up nicely for you. Just make sure you go in with your eyes wide open.

Thanks LL
Well done on doing the xmas shopping. Can't believe how close it is.
TBH , the flat is on the middle floor I think. So, not building my hopes up . I'm just checking things as and when they appear .
Beginning to take my foot off the pedal I think0 -
Middle floor... noise from above and below... AC, have you ever lived in a house, except from when you were young? Chavs aside (please heaven) they can be great and you can afford a detached, somewhere nice.0

Ac look at the service charges. Seems to be about £100 a month - that's a lot. What do you get for that? someone to cut the grass, clean the stairs and maybe the outside windows. I would hate to be in a flat. A nice little bungalow with a bit of a garden to sit out in the summer. A house is about the same price as a 2 bed flat in Poole.
When one of my son's was looking to buy in Aberdeen he found out what he could get for the money he had. All were flats and I trudged round and round loads of them new ones. old ones tiny ones huge ones and also the dumps that were in need of renovation. We asked in the property centre were there any houses in this price range. No was the first reply and then that week got told there were 3 houses in the whole of Aberdeen. We looked and he chose the one with the best garden so he could have loads of BBQs:T0 -

Hi again gang. I am just emerging from my own 'sabbatical ' - dentist, jaw, pred increase, haematology issues, generally feeling rubbish etc etc.
First, please stop insinuating that 25th is close. It simply isn't allowed to be.
Next, I have tried and failed to properly understand service charges. Why are they so high? What do you get?
And I do think being sandwiched between two flats is taking a huge risk.0 -
Thanks again
Wendy I hope you get on the mend soon
I'm just looking at the flat ..nothing else .
The service charges for this property include water so not too steep.
Will keep you posted .0 -
I really hope you feel better soon, wendym, sending you hugs, fwtw.:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:0
