Howdy !
I think my immune system is shot at the moment . Well, almost.
I've developed a random cough. Nose not running constant, but more than usual. I thought it was the medication making me 'heady'.
I think I've got an immense flu coming.still managed to go to Poole to do big shopping ish.
I obviously didn't go to the gym today. However, I stocked up on lemsip
etc. And am typing this from bed .
The other day, sainsburys didn't have listening mouthwash, so I got Colgate instead. Yesterday my tongue was white, and so I managed to get some just now. I tend to get flu/ cold only about once a year. This is that time I guess.
I have a couple of friends coming over tomorrow , for my friends 50th.
Nothing big. Just a few pubs to visit. I think I should be fine if I take lemsip etc. Throughout the rest of the day.
Forgot to get Jameson's whiskey. 1 at night is good for colds/ flu etc.
I think I've been out of twickenham a month now, and feel better than expected in terms of readjustment . I honestly can't remember , if it's 3 weeks or a month.0 -
No offence Smodlet. I tried my best to stop it. I'll stop hijacking the thread now, but I could do without texts telling me what a state she is in.
dreaming - I just have to grit my teeth and watch the SIL who won't touch carbs, veg or fruit pile his plate with meat.
AC - succumbing to something like flu is a classic reaction to stress easing off. Still miserable. Hope it's not full blown flu.0 -
Sorry you are feeling rotten, AC. You take care drinking and doing lemsips together, won't you?
Wendym, is this the one who has sense and facts intolerance? Is he one of these body building types? We are omnivores, not carnivores and without veg or fruit, he will get scurvy. I can't remember why we need carbs, but am pretty sure we do.0 -
Yes he is that one, Smodlet.
He is one of the founding partners of an IT company, who when he decided to give up carbs, worried about carbonated water. Seriously. Scurvy would be a just result.
Where did I pack away the Chtistmas spirit last year?0 -
Carbonated water :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Is he, perchance, married to the mother of the twelve-year-old? The stuff you are telling us is making me think of that film I have never had the stomach to watch, Marathon Man, you know? Sorry, that was probably tactless, I'm not doing very well today, am I?0

Oh dear Wendy, just open a bottle of something (that no-one else likes) as early as possible then you won't care. Or tell him about the new "scientific study" you read about eating meat (there's bound to be one somewhere) and see if he adopts the latest trend. Apologies to all of those with real dietary problems but I see/hear of so many people who have suddenly developed these "intolerances" when it seems all the zzz-celebs. have.
AC - hope you feel better soon.0 -
Maybe you should develop idiot intolerance, wendy, you could say you caught if off the internet from me!0
-
Hope I don't infect you with the sister syndrome Know it All intolerance.0
-
I think I already have that...0

Okay, thought I'd do some more washing in the washing machine .
Of all programmes I decided to watch while it was on..the gadget show.
So, about an hour later , I find water still,in the drum.
After a bit of investigation , there is a power issue in the kitchen.
The washing machine and fridge have no power. One or two sockets not working either. It's only the kitchen btw.
So, I looked st the junction box and all the switches are the same.
Had to send landlady a polite text explaining the situation.
She asked me to get the estate agents electricians out. Also, if I want, I could ask one of the neighbours( she gave me his door no.) to see if he wants to have a look.
I will contact the estate agents. I will buy an extension lead, as I don't want my frozen food to go off. I think the rashers of bacon in the fridge will have to be chucked tho'.
As for the washing machine: hopefully , the water will be emptied once the electrician restores power.
The landlady was at a funeral today. She is coming down to see me on Tuesday apparently.
No big deal. She says that the issues I have, haven't happened before.
We'll see.0
