You remember 'Twas the night before Christmas?
Well in my pantry the mouse has been stirring, nibbling pistachios and snuggling in a stack of towels. He is tiny and shiny and beautiful, and I can't hurt him (if you offer him a humane trap he fills it with something comfy and settles down) but I need another plastic tub for nuts, clearly. And a new home for kitchen towels.
He's a yellow eared mouse, like a tiny polished jet-propelled conker.0 -
There are 11 of us staying in a hotel over Christmas and much carousing will be done. I probably need to check the open spirits bottles I was planning to take to make sure they haven't gone off :xmassign::snow_grin:rudolf::santa2::snow_laugA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I have encountered many mice in my time, courtesy of a variety of tiggers, but do not recall one with yellow ears, wendym. Perhaps you should take a picture of said rodent and send it to Mr. Attenborough, or someone. I am glad you find him/her beautiful and have pistachios sufficient to render him comfortable. I cannot envisage his leaving any time soon. Your pantry sounds like mouse heaven to me... Just let us hope this is not Mary Mouse awaiting a happy event in your hostelry.
All together, now, "Away in a manger"...:rotfl::p

Damn it, this is in my brain, now and it is all your fault, wendym, with a bit of encouragement from you, grunnie... Here goes <ahem>
Away in a pantry I made up my nest,
Of all the mouse foods here, pistachios are best,
The human, she found me, looked down where I lay,
My cute, yellow ears made wendy want me to stay.
Needs some work... AC?0 -
If I find myself singing this at 4am I shall have to resort to legal action.0

It's sounding very mellow in here today.
Glad you got your electrics fixed temporarily AC, annoying nonetheless.

Very good indeed Smodlet. Alfie (the cat) decided he didn't particularly like the cheddar and chilli cheese so retired to the bed in a huff. I have just spent a pleasant 90 minutes knitting and watching a great disaster movie (Super Eruption). If there are no cheesy Christmas movies on there is nothing better than a cheesy disaster. Oh no - I'm becoming obsessed with cheese!
AC - re filter on washing machine. They are usually behind a removable panel at the base of the front of the machine - have you checked there? If you do find it make sure you have some bowls or something before you remove the filter or you risk flooding your kitchen. Don't ask me how I know that! Or try googling the make and model of machine for a manual. Hope you are feeling better.0 -

Good morning.
Been AWOL. Dad back in hospital.
AC. Sorry to hear about electricity. Hope all is well by now but yes a couple of extension cables will do as a temporary fix.
Have been rushed off my feet, lots of hospital visiting.. Very tired, hoping to catch up today. Put up the tree, wrap presents etc.
Good news...had a nice little £50 premium bond win.::D0 -
