Oh Lordy........you are in full "Scaredy Cat" mode today aren't you.
Deep breaths.
It's Bank Holiday, so do something nice. Get out there in the sun and mingle.......
"when you're alone and life is making you sad........,
downtown where all the lights are bright
Downtown........de da de da de da"
Can't remember the words but you get the gist.
Play some music LOUDLY, dance, get showered and get dolled up and get outside.
AC. You are just going to have to shut your eyes and take a leap of faith.
CARPE THAT DIEM!!!0 -
Ps. I've booked a test drive for a new motor.......
A Mercedes.......well why not. I'm 65. I ve always wanted one.
I haggled on the house and got myself a good deal - it's now or never. :rotfl:0 -
Re the garden .......discuss it with your solicitor, he or she will help you with exact wording and phrasing for the form.
You are paying them for "best advice". Let them give you that best advice, it's their job.0 -
Thanks folks . Nice choice for a car LL
Karonher, no I won't bring my job much longer . I'm getting out of there
I briefly thought of that studio flat as a means to clear debt and go temping again . It wouldn't be in the city again . Hate it , as everyone knows:)
Just had probably , my last haircut in twickenham .
Yeah, karonber / LL you're right .:)
I have a chance to seize the moment , instead of continually griping and doing nothing . I suppose , it's the reality kicking in . The solicitors letter etc. The realisation that I'm isolated wherever I go .
People on here have been through worse.
I think this is one of the only times where I wish I had a partner0 -
Regarding benefit for my condition :

Judging from what happened when my OH was ill you practically have to be deaths door ........before they pay out.
Seriously it took me 18 months and three appeals before they coughed up his disability allowance. In the end it had to go to tribunal before a panel of three "judges"
I wheeled him in his wheelchair. Hold in your mind an image of Stephen Hawkins and you will understand just how sick my husband was by this stage. He couldn't even sit unsupported. He was strapped to his chair with a harness and propped up with cushions. The look on their faces was priceless.
I made them squirm..........they tried to get me to speak for my husband.i refused. I kept referring them back to him. After about 10 minutes I calmly asked if they would like me to "translate".
I have never been so angry in my life - it was humiliating for my husband.
I wanted To tell them to stuff their DLA. Unfortunately I had no choice but to beg and grovel - we had used up all our savings and were destitute.
Welfare State - Pah. Not fit for purpose. NHS - likewise.
AC.......i have researched your illness.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that whilst it is certainly debilitating it is not terminal. And it sounds as if you have been getting appropriate treatment and have made good progress.
Make the most of your situation. It could have been worse. You are now the age when my husband died. Don't waste your time and energy on chasing rainbows. Don't put your faith in The State. Stand on your own two feet.
You will have over £200k in the bank, an opportunity to chuck up your job, take a sabbatical, get fit and healthy and start a new life.
You are an extremely fortunate man.0 -
Discussed often on buying and selling board, go on there and read advice as to answering that question, one reason why I will never complain in writing or to anyone else about neighbours. Lonicera AC? Harz I am sorry, but you are wrong, the best thing is to say that it is resolved.0
-
Thanks again LL . So sorry about the treatment you suffered .
You are right . I am very fortunate , to say the least .
I have improved somewhat , since last year .
It's just that a few people told me, I'd be mad not to look into signing on .
Not for me .
I have a provisional appt for Thursday lunchtime to look at a property in parkstone . Yep- purbeck heights
It will give me a chance to get more of a reality check.
Looking for more places now .
Btw: Westbourne is nearer Bournemouth so I'll be looking to view there also. Even if I'm renting first .0 -
I would think "gardengate" - see what I did there :rotfl: is a none issue.
There will always be something of this nature in blocks of flats. It's one of the perils of communal living......
The issue is historical and has been resolved to everyone's satisfaction. It is not on going. I cannot envisage any difficulties.
Yes you will have to disclose that you had occasion "to contact the management company".......note the use of the word "contact" rather than "making a complaint against a fellow resident".
People contact their management companies all the time, for all sorts of routine Issues appertaining to the smooth running of the complex.
It's no biggie.
As I advised earlier your best course of action is to discuss this with your solicitor who will advise you on the best terminology and wording to use in your answer.
That way you know that you have answered truthfully and stayed within the law.
You will be paying your solicitor several hundred pounds to protect your interests. Let them do their job.0
