If I were you I'd get most of that £300 back as soon as you can. I'd leave about £50 in there as a buffer in case you use more for some reason but I'd want my money before they mess up again :rotfl:0

I agree mrsp1987! I'll be calling them tomorrow at the latest about it. Apart from anything I really want that direct debit lowered back to its original £39/month instead of the ghastly £89 I'm on now because of this faff with the readings. Based on the CORRECT bill now I've calculated that over the past 5 months, gas and electricity has only cost us £27/month and most of that is the daily flat rate! Thank god for well insulated flats hey?
TT'd £1.45 this morning and £1.79 yesterday - both went straight into the mortgage account as per usual.
No OH this week and with me on my free week before work starts next Monday, means that I'll try and clear the cupboards a bit food wise. Got lots of small things/errands to do but don't have the desire to do them so we'll see how much I'll actually get done.
I've gone and gotten a bit crazy about mrmoneymustache.com lately so I'm sure I'll be reading more about him and his lifestyle this week! What an inspirationMortgage Oct '20: £615k

Went on a 3 hour walk today, via a G@p shop to buy some new jeans (my two pairs have both ripped in unfortunate areas - a clear sign I need to take that diet more seriously!). Managed to get a 15% student discount on the purchase as well as 3% cashback using £co
Also ended up spending £9 on a birthday gift for a friend whose birthday dinner I'm attending on Wednesday.
Pulled the £2.53 currently available at £co, which I'll transfer into the mortgage once it comes through.
Didn't have to call €on in the end as they called me today to refund me £264 and they wanted to lower my monthly payment to £30. Can't wait for that £££ to hit the account this week, it'll do nicelyMortgage Oct '20: £615k

All sounds positive, especially the lowered DD amount.0

Love Mr MM! He's super motivating - after reading a post I always want to go away and ride a bike/do some DIY/eat rice & beans for a week. :rotfl:a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0

Today, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be based on what I've already got in the fridge/cupboard so I've got my fingers crossed for it being an NSD
. I have to travel in to the new office today for my staff ID to be made, so transport will obviously be a cos. As I'll never really get away from paying tube fare I'm just going to pretend that doesn't count
TT'd £1.76 this morning. Also did a couple of Sw@gbucks surveys but by god life is too short for that - I doubt I'll ever be motivated enough to get any money out of them.
I've carried on reading Mr MM's blog and his post on grocery bills has made me want to tackle ours with some renewed energy. Let's see how long that lasts!Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

I'll have to have a look at this Mr MM fellow. Sounds interesting.
Glad that €on did the right thing by you and sorted out the money and DD.0 -
Just stumbled on this thread and loving the chat on it. Big fan of Mr MM too. Also wanting to be MF early although just making small overpayments as and when I can - £150 per month and a quid here and there. Hope you don't mind me joining you all.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0
