Hello and welcome! Small overpayments is where it's at
Not very mustachian of us though... :rotfl:
I think it's all relative (and requires balance). We're paying off our mortgage pretty aggressively, but I think we could have opted to shave another year off our payoff if we opted to nix eating out/allowances from our budget. Given that we'd still be looking at 4 years even with that, it's not worth it to us. Better for us to maintain a luxurious (certainly by MMM standards!) budget that we're happy to maintain and maximise our OPs within that budget.
If we nixed our pension contributions we could knock another year off, but then we'd lose 3 years of pension contributions (not to mention pay more taxes).0 -
Have you set up your own diary yet ldee? If not then I'd recommend it, it helps keep me a bit focused
It's something I keep thinking about doing. But I really enjoy following other people's journeys to being MF and definitely find it motivating. Maybe I'll start one in a wee while - when I understand how to properly use the forums. :rotfl: Despite using MSE for years, I've not spent as much time on them.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0 -
I'd love to be more aggressive with overpayments, but we just moved into our house last year and have quite a few big jobs needing done. We're almost finished the first of them - replacing all the windows and doors. Hoping at some point to put more to OPs.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0

I agree with you re: the mortgage payments hiddenshadow (and ldee!) I just think in general MMM would be pretty disappointed with me as it's not as if whatever I don't OP goes into savings
. Well, it goes into the wedding savings but if he knew how pricey my wedding will be I'm pretty sure I'd get slapped
TT'd £1.01 into the mortgage this morning (I really hope H@lifax won't look at my transactions list as it's quite an embarrassing one of lots of little shuffles!) and did another sw@gbucks survey even though they're pointless:rotfl:.
I keep thinking about fleabaying things but I don't think I've got anything that anyone else would want? Just clothes I can't fit into anymoreMortgage Oct '20: £615k

I saw a post recently about bizarre things that have sold on ebay, such as smelly shoes and jars of air (apparently people in china love English air!) so you never know... you might have some junk that someone strange would want0

Ha that reminds me - do any of you watch orange is the new black? During the last season the girls started a business venture based on selling used underwear to creepy men on the web :rotfl: and I know that in Japan they have vending machines selling used women's underwear!
I promise I won't be putting any of THAT on €b@y thoughMortgage Oct '20: £615k

That was quite a good business venture of theirs :rotfl: I suppose in prison you have few options for making money. Slightly worrying how big the market is for such a thing...0
