With P2 (Corporate Reporting) I was umming & aahing on which version to take - UK or International, but after talking to a few other qualified accountants - will be doing the International version. UK accounting rules are moving closer to International accounting rules.
Hope that everyone is having a good day so far, even though it is cold and windy here in London.

It depends a bit on what your job is as well - I think if you need to be able to sign off accounts or audits in the UK you need to do the UK version of the exam. I always did the International versions though as they've got slightly less material. The way I understood it, the UK versions just made you learn UK GAAP on top IFRS rather than instead of .
Just had an amazing weekend at the OH's garrison, with a big parade, dinner and ball and dancing until 4 am on Saturday. I am knackered now though and really not looking forward to being cooped up in an office for the next 5 days again...Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

Thanks Petal - luckily I don't have to sign off any accounts or audits.
Sounds like a lovely weekend.

Payday today - and sorely needed as I haven't had an income since Feb
. Still no sign of the 4k clawback they're due to give me back, but they've now said it should be included in next month's paycheck. I haven't received my P45 from the old job yet so unfortunately I'm also on an emergency tax code and got zero personal allowance at the moment. Slim paycheck is what I'm trying to say and it's not ideal!

Ouch! I hope everything gets sorted for next month.
I should get my last pay from previous job on Thursday, and in theory I'm already in the system with new job for next month. Hoping there won't be too much disruption in the finances, but will have to see what Thursday's cheque looks like.0 -
That's a pain. My OH was hit with an emergency tax code this month too and it's messed with our budget.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0

Yeah it's not ideal, and to be honest as I started partways into the month I'm not sure at all how much I should have had/will get back next month.
On the plus side, OH's promotion/pay rise requests seems to be progressing and he found out that if he gets the pay rise they'll back date it for him for the last few months!
My brother has asked for a £200 loan which I obviously haven't budgeted for and know that I won't get back... sigh!Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

There's not much to report really! It's been slow OP-wise due to STILL being owed 4k by the company, the emergency tax code, plus other expenditures like paying for car insurance, home+contents insurance, the black tie event as well as booking our holiday for August...
On the bright side, I've gained £4.76 through £co, As0s made a booboo with a return which means an unexpected £16 and €on is refunding me my £5 credit for the month
And I've lost 3.5lbs in the last 2,5 weeks! :jMortgage Oct '20: £615k

I feel your pain - I have a brother as well.
Glad to read it's the correct kind of lbs lost, and not ££'s :TAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

He's 8 years younger than me so I feel quite responsible for him. With youth unemployment back home being 22% he's not managed to get a job since he left high school 2 years ago, so I would feel terribly guilty if I denied him money when I earn a good amount
Regarding the weight loss - I think I hit rock bottom the other week when I realised none of my black tie dresses fit me anymore, including my "fat" one from when I was at my heaviest 4 years ago! So I'm back on myfitnesspal and I've been to the gym 4 times in the last weekMortgage Oct '20: £615k
