I'm just plodding along! I'm behind on the wedding savings due to the problems of getting taxes and refunds at work to work, plus the cost of booking my August holiday. As a result I feel tentative about OP'ing at the moment. Having said that - I am still OP'ing bits and bobs and I calculated the other day that my monthly interest has dropped £15 a month since last year which isn't too horrible.

    Recent MSE things:
    - Quidco are sending through a few quid
    - My broadband contract is up so I think I'll go for €€ instead of t@lkt@lk, as it would save us £10/month and would increase the OH's monthly data on his phone which he really needs.
    - Found wedding invitations that I like - the downloadable template is £17 and then I'm printing them myself to save on costs
    - I have asked a friend who is a keen baker to make my wedding cake
    - step mum in law just completed a florist course so I think I'll have her do the flowers (except for the bouquets)

Got a wedding to go to on Saturday so I'll make sure to note everything down for future reference! Fingers crossed the forecast improves though as it's currently saying 18 degrees and rain and it's a garden wedding...

Going to other people's weddings is really good not just for finding things you like but also for finding things you don't like which is just as useful actually.
It sounds like you're doing a lot of what I did. I got a family friend to do the photographs - he was a very keen amateur photographer though not just some random friend with no experience. We got another friend of a family member to do the cake but she gave us 15% discount. Flowers we got the bouquets and 2 pedestal flowers from shop in town but MIL made the table centre pieces in the same style. She also made the bags for the wedding favours and bought the sweets. My mum made bunting (she's a very good sewer) and also took up my MoH dress and attached a shiny thing on her shoulder.
Let me know if you want any advice about anything. 1 year anniversary next month already! Where has the time gone?

    How's everything going, Petal? x
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library
