brilliant, well done everybody on the moneymaking.
great to see so many posts with money made.
meant to say also, anyone with a nectar card, make sure you have signed up for an account and check your offers. DH has a 500 points on his next shop at sainsbobs. So in theory I am assuming I could buy a paper and swipe his nectar card and he will get 500 points. Can't see anything saying a minimum spend.

Everyone's doing so well and the thread is really buzzing at the moment:j.
I've had a little flurry of book sales on Amazon this past few days, some of the books have been listed for about a year and have sold at long last. Not mega expensive but every little helps and the bonus of clearing some more space is priceless:j. Just got home from posting 3 to find another sales notification on the laptop but that one will have to wait until Monday to go now. Not counting any of the profits from this lot until I get it in my bank account next week.
Meanwhile I'm adding £15.23 for books sold last week, £7 in Paypal from a postal survey, £1.25 in various MOCs and a £5 Love2Shop voucher from another survey. That's £28.48 to add to the pot:j
Have a great weekend, everyone:beer:0 -

:hello: Sharon
Whatever I can find that looks as if it might make a profit is the short answer. Books that are a bit unusual sell well, so long as it's in Amazon's catalogue (although I think it's possible to list other books as well but I've never had to do that so far). Blockbuster best-selling novels etc don't sell well, too many of them around. Study and business books do well, so long as they are not too out of date, as do money-saving and getting rich books:rotfl:. It's hard to say definitively, as what's in demand changes regularly:(
I keep my eyes peeled at car boot sales and those tables that seem to be everywhere in shops and doctors' surgeries and so on these days where people donate second hand books. There are often real bargains to be found there. I recently picked one up from a table in Boots for 50p (the price they were asking)and sold it on Amazon for £8.75:j. Be careful though as if you buy from a charity shop (and some of them are really pricey and will already have checked how much it would get on Amazon:() you might not make a profit.
I picked up a massive box of books for next to nothing ages ago. I'd no idea what was in there but the seller (at a boot sale) wanted rid or they were going to the tip so I thought it worth the risk. Proved very profitable as there were some jewellers/watchmakers reference books in there which, although old, never go out of date. A lot was dross though and did go to the tip.
Beware of big, glossy coffee-table books. The weight makes postage expensive and will probably incur a loss.
Listing on Amazon is dead easy and they can stay listed forever until sold:j. I often go through my inventory to check prices and sometimes reduce my asking price if they've been hanging fire for yonks. I want to make money but am desperate to clear the clutter:o.
I hope that's been a bit of help to you and anyone else who might have a go:). I can recommend it but it's not a guaranteed quick-sell method. If you want to sell quicker, eBay might be better, but I prefer Amazon myself.0 -
