Almost certainly yes, just so long as the rumours that on a standard SanFran with Orange software, you cannot turn off the 3g completely, are not true.
You might need "2g3gonoff"

I can confirm, on the basis of recent trips involving several countries, that the San Fran with the original Orange software can be 3G-disabled quite easily - just make sure that you don't tick the 'Data Roaming' option.
Used the Wi-fi without problem where available, and no 3G data whatsoever was used.0 -
My daughter has an Iphone and has just landed a contract on a cruise for about 7 months. She will be visiting USA, Central and South America, Africa, Australia, Asia and ending in Europe.
There is internet availabe on tbe cruise at a cheaper rate. Whats roaming card to get for incoming phone calls.0 -
The payment page on the website of GoSim is not encrypted when you enter your credit card details! My security software confirmed this when I was about to enter the card details.0

I have recently visited Jamaica. In order to keep in touch with home while away I decided to use a GeoSIM card as a way to control call costs. Mistake.
The GeoSIm web site implied that calls from Jamaica would be 16 p and there would be no roaming charges. Wrong! The first call I made more or less wiped out the £10 credit on the prepaid account. On investigation I found I was paying a minimum of £2.50 to make calls and £1.90 to receive them. I quickly ditched this SIM and bought a local one (Digicel) that gave me 1000 minutes free calls to UK landlines. This is awkward if you want to receive calls but that may be no bad thing if you are on holiday.0 -
I have an unlocked iPhone 4S and will be travelling abroad to Thailand, Australia and the US shortly.
Where can I buy a micro sim to use abroad? The ones recommended on this site (TruPhone etc) don't seem to offer a micro sim option?
Any advice is appreciated!0 -
Cut the extra plastic from a sim. Use a knife / scissors or buy a cheap sim-cutter from e-bay.0

Unfortunately, this is a problem with trying to use the iphones that take a micro sim with other sim cards. Most if these carriers do not offer micro sims.I have an unlocked iPhone 4S and will be travelling abroad to Thailand, Australia and the US shortly.

That's no problem at all, Micro Sims are exactly the same as regular Sims except less plastic surrounding them, they can literally be cut with scissors or a cheap sim-card cutter available on ebay0 -
I know they are the same thing except for size. It's just a pain switching sims between a with phones that use regular sim. For example, I have an iphone4 and HTC desire as my regular phones and switch sim every week. Bit had to use an adapter whenever I am using the HTC. what a pain!Semi_Quaver wrote: »That's no problem at all, Micro Sims are exactly the same as regular Sims except less plastic surrounding them, they can literally be cut with scissors or a cheap sim-card cutter available on ebay0
