IF you use Dialnow with toggleMobile that will be very cheap !

You can sign up to https://www.dialnow.com

    Then use the app

    http://www.dialnow.com/en/download

or this java app (if you have an old phone but which does Java)

    http://gsm.voipbuster.com/download/voipclient.jar

    on your phone.

It connects by phoning you up then the destination.

UK to Austria would be about 2p per minute + 5 p to connect :)

It works well have had it for years, I used to use it when my inclusive minutes ran out :)

Yes :) It can connect any two landline or mobile numbers (not 0898 and the like )

I wonder if any of you well informed people can tell me the best sim to get to make calls to the UK, and receive calls from the UK in Austria.

Should I be getting a UK payg sim - or should I buy a local sim in Austria?

I would be grateful for any advice.

(Austria inconveniently is not a toggle country - toggle charges are free to receive calls from UK, but .23p per minute to call the UK)

Presumably plus a local call to connect?

I'm looking for a solution to making calls FROM South Africa to Europe. Toggle don't offer service of any kind FROM South Africa!

Would dialnow work, and if so would I need a local SIM to connect? I don't fancy making local calls using my UK phone.

    Thanks.

Lycamobile recently launched in Austria, so it's possible to hope it will become a Toggle country within a few months

I am going to Australia with my wife and son next week. We all have Virgin Mobile phones, but I have just read that calls will be 95p/min to make and 80p/min to receive. I had wrongly assumed that we could make Virigin to Virgin calls to each other while abroad and it would be included in our monthly allowances, because that is what happens when my sister-in-law visits us from Aus. Is there any way we can make and receive cheap calls while over there?
  • If your phones aren't locked and are 3g you could get two of three's 321 pay sim cards from a three store. Australia is one of the countries in the feel at home promotion. Buying a add-on might be a good idea probably cost about £20.

Unashamed bump as I'm looking for a reasonable service FROM South Africa.

    Thanks.
