You'd think that no one would deny that right, yet some would hurl abuse at anyone who has a different opinion... :p

Seems there are some double standards there, but, I forgive you..
This seems to have run it's course and hopefully it will have given people an opportunity to look deeper and decide what they want and don't want.

    I'm glad you recognise that.

The OS wasn't free, it was included in the price.

I wasn't talking about the OS.

I was talking about MS Office.

I think you'll find that the price of the netbook was jacked up to cover the cost of supplying Office

Well, I only paid a shade over £200 for the netbook, so, given it came with Windows 8 (with a free upgrade to 8.1, then 10) and MS Office, the machine itself must cost a few dozen pounds, at most.
unless it was supplied with an old (probably pre-2010) version.

    Nope, 2013.

    The Laptop cost £220.

Given it included Win 8 (with a free upgrade to 8.1 and now 10), and a full version of Office 2013, how much did the actual hardware cost?
  • well just had a customer tell me that he inserted a DVD , and he was forwarded to Microsoft "apps" to pay £11.85 for the DVD player app
    DVD player

he is now using VLC player FOC

windoze 10 might be free , but they like to charge for their apps
  • I never use anything but VLC, for playing DVDs and video files.
