Ooh - cabbasta - love a good portmanteau in our house
I am loving the positivity of your diary, although the surfeit of smileys does mean that it is very much NSFW
Your eB@y clearout sounds like it is going swimmingly. I have been an eB@y user forever (literally, I migrated to it from Yah0o! auctions, if anyone else was bleeding edge enough to remember those?) I've probably been 50/50 buy/sell over the years, but am surprised to discover that I'm at close to 1k feedback (all positive). I try and do a suitable amount of research before selling, have never been one to sell things where it wasn't worth the time.
Having never been unemployed, I haven't had to experience your frustration with the Job Centre, but have experienced it vicariously through Mrs E. The hoops they make you jump through to get very little... Are you also making use of the gummint scheme that pays your mortgage interest?
In closing, I have a confession to make. My TD has jaunty tunes and an app.... but I think I was mistaken about the internal light  Hey ho, that's another person struck off GG's Christmas card list.0 -

Mr E, what an admission :rotfl:
How could that not have been at the top of your requirements for buying a TD. Forget all this A+, AAA etc

I'm just running out the door (not literally of course as that would be Exercise), so will respond properly later but just wanted to say thank you for your lovely posts, ALL of which have completely made my morning. So great to know anyone is reading out there ...
And perhaps Mr E deserves some slack … I know he missed the Most High Purpose of entertaining GG :smileyhea, but Ace does still sing jaunty tones and answer to the smartphone ….
so it's not as if the Eds did anything daft like go for price / quality / energy efficiency / value after all.

Hi hollybol,
I too am a confirmed non ironer. I only buy clothes that don't need ironing (or at least aren't too bad if not ironed). Smart suits and evening clothes are dry cleaned. Saves me so much time and stress.
Also have couple of clothes horses and use radiators to dry thing since i once had a td fire caused by built up of lint (it was a shared house, so no one checked).
Best of luck with job huntingMortgage Free 20240 -

I've just caught up with your diary. Really enjoyed reading it.
I have a Tastecard and don't really use it as much as I should. Your post made me think I really do need to. I used it last weekend when I was away though and saved £10I get mine through my N@twest current account. …. Might be worth a look if you like taste card
Hi FF3
Thanks so much for posting, really lovely to get chat about my witterings.
For years I thought the tastecard a con and couldn’t understand why anyone would pay but then I got a freebie trial and was hooked. I guess it depends a bit on your circs – in Londinium it saves me loads, I use it often for lunch when I’m catching up with someone between work, and as a singly in the sprawling City a meal out is often the way to see people, so it gives a lot of scope (241 as well as 50% ☺)– I make back the £30 in 3 visits to pizza Xpress / Zizzzi / Straaada, and occasionally branch out further ☺
Thanks for the Natwest tip – current circs mean I can’t open any more current accounts just now, but will remember that when things change … ignoring for now that I’m a bit of a current account tart and probably have too many already, well overdue for a shuffle ….

Thanks Tilly … the fleabay one did particularly tickle me
In this (as in so much) I owe inspiration to Gally.
Which reminds me, theses are good smilies, but they are no slappy penguin. Gally please can we have the slappy penguin? Pleeeez …..Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
