  • Home again after long walk with lovely dog, and delicious free dinner - almost free, my only spend for today was £4 for chocolates to take :)

Two items sold on the flea - one predictable and slightly lower than I'd hoped, the other bizarre and listed as a longshot. Two more items ready for pics tomorrow and then listing 10 day auction on Thursday - that will be my 50 listed, and I still have a few free listings for November :T

hi, just popping in to say i never iron anything other than funeral shirt or interview shirt, i have 3 clothes horses which are usually near radiators but the one thing i would say helps is to keep rearranging the clothes, when you go past take them off and turn them so the wetter end is nearer the radiator, shake them out and rehang as flat as can be, shake out pants and socks adn get them straight and flat as anything bunched will take ages and be more likely to smell damp, turn the whole horse round etc etc as that seems to get them dry quicker. Also, we have two lengths of wood we keep and slot through the top spars so a sheet or downie cover is suspended like a wide tent - one end of the material tucked down the back of the radiator and one end over the top of the horse and down to the floor. Again, keep turning it, (downie covers should go on inside out to minimise "lumps" which will take longer to dry) but also it makes a lovely hot space underneath on all the other spars to dry all the other clothes out. (i rearrange clothes out on the line too as the bits you turn over the line take longer too and i swap the cold side to the sunny side etc etc . I find it helps). hope this helps, keep on with the journey, you will get there

Great news on the fleabaying :)

Ostrich-ness gets us all at times, I think - starting something is really hard at times, and I'm sure that once you've got past the initial hurdle of recording and analysing your spends it'll be fine :) x

Definitely make sure you eat properly - that's very, very important xx

Thank you both for popping by …

Daisy - excellent to 'meet' another non-ironer (hangs head in shame that even for interviews I prefer the non-iron variety) … completely agree about bunched socks, I actually rewashed some the other day 'cos they smelled so manky after ages on the dryer. I love the idea of the 'tents' - I've limited width space but will definitely be constructing some tall wigwams for sheets :)

Greent - thanks, I've been very inspired by your fleabaying … particularly loved the 'ghost listing' idea :)

Inspired by reading P*M's diary, I've [STRIKE]procrastinated playing [/STRIKE] spent some time wisely this evening jazzing up how I report progress on my 3 First F's …

smiley-chores023.gif Flat (Stuff-free): Much aided by catchup TV, spent the afternoon culling papers and have just put out 3 bags for recycling :T

smiley-eatdrink026.gif Food: More cabbasta for lunch and BNS soup this evening … found some tiny alphabet pasta shapes which provided no end of amusement as I added them. Plus a couple of apples picked from a tree yesterday when out of the smoke - fab to have them quite so fresh.

deposit-into-piggy-bank-smiley-emoticon.gif (Not) Frittering: Got some Marksies vouchers for spending on my stoozed 0% card - determined to save and find some real bargains with them. Free coffee … which was taken from me on arrival at the job centre (not allowed to take hot drinks near advisers apparently ). Small spend only on milk and eggs. And all of that nonsense this morning was in the good cause of getting some money ….

  • Cancelled my taste*card due for automatic renewal tomorrowsmiley-sad058.gif Bit sad as I do save with it when life 'normal' (clearly not as much as never going out, but still very worthwhile), but needs must at the moment. Then saw one advertised on free postcode lottterysmiley-happy005.gif, but turned out to be only 30 day trial … will wait for a longer :money: free trial.

On Free Postcode Lotttery though they are today offering some P1neC0ne signups for anyone interested … that's how I got mine so it is legit. :T

smiley-chores023.gif Flat (Stuff-free): Not most productive day on this front … I'm thinking hours on rightmove don't count ;)smiley-sad058.gif

smiley-eatdrink026.gif Food: Originally, cabbasta and BNS soup … but now bored of these so frozen last couple of portions in effort to do something different tomorrow.

deposit-into-piggy-bank-smiley-emoticon.gif (Not) Frittering: Oooo my first diary list, albeit a mini one :j
    • cancelled tastecard
    • sent 2 more fleabay H3rmes items
    • Did RM survey stuff including call to check something
    • spent a couple of hours perfecting (ish) a fleabay spreadsheet … aside from running totals, I'm thinking this will help with developing other spreadsheets as I've learned some exciting new functions (yes, I need to get out more :))
    • NSD

Using info from spreadsheet, I've done my first signature :T … hope I'll have some more to report but for now sticking with fleabay which is the clearest progress. Bit sad it wouldn't let me use this, so thought I'd stick it on the end of the post … keep watching it!smiley-signs141.gif

  • Hi Hollybol.:hello:

I've just caught up with your diary. Really enjoyed reading it.

I have a Tastecard and don't really use it as much as I should. Your post made me think I really do need to. I used it last weekend when I was away though and saved £10 :) I get mine through my N@twest current account. I pay £15 a month and that gets me the card, travel insurance, 2 National Trust family passes, car breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance. It should be £18 a month but they swapped me from the gold account I had to platinum and upped the fee from 12 to 15 pounds. I'm still quids in though :). Might be worth a look if you like taste card :)

Oops, this has turned into an essay. Sorry :/
