I'm loving that it's the appliances rather than the philosophy which attracts the chat :) Going to try my TD and will report!

  • Computer ground to a halt yesterday so spent many hours 'clearing' files and disk space. Like all other clutter it's well overdue, so a lot to do and I'm hoping it will do the trick … sadly can't put that kind of clutter towards any MFW on fleabay …. Lots of (tangible, other clutter) items going live tonight so hoping machine will be revived for obsessive checking, label printing etc :):)

  • I always seem to get to that stage with electronic devices too. :D Currently doing battle with my phone... deleting one app at a time has kept it going for weeks.

Should probably do something more serious about it soon though...

Good tip re apps PM … I'm off to purge those too. I always leave it until too late, hence computer going on strike yesterday … on The List One Day is periodic systems.

 re your phone … speaking as one who has kicked myself many times, have you got it backed up or at least the SIM backed up?

Random acts / the kindness of strangers - I had a bad fall which broke my i…pad as well as bits of me, and I included that (the i, not bits of me) on recent fleabay binge. Buyer managed to get it working, and contacted me offering to send it back for a few days so that I can download pics etc I'd not got before it bust. :T:T

Yes, I was very chuffed. :T
Odd karma though … when I sent him the tablet I'd thrown in a keyboard that fitted it but not my new one, which I'd not been successful in selling so thought he might enjoy. The day afterwards, a key fell off my keyboard for my current pad, which is very aggranoying, so had been wishing I'd not been so generous. But now I'm glad I was - what goes around comes around :):)

Two weeks now since my fleabay binge and start of this diary. I've sold and sent 15 items, have another 33 listed so this weekend I want to list at least another 3 to take it over 50. It's definitely diminishing returns, most of what's now listed are little things which may well not sell and feel very hard work taken alone. But as a whole it feels really good to have broken the back of backlog, and now to be able to add things as they crop up (ignoring for now the 2 big batches I've not tackled yet) .... Anything that doesn't sell I may give another go or two before it goes to CS or freeecycle - as well as the pennies it's good to be getting things out of the way ….

Which is just as well because very little progress made on any other aspect of the Flat (or much else!). Today it's pouring and grey so after a good boost of catching up on diaries this morning, I'm going to attack and hope to report back later with some progress. I'm grateful if not for the rain for it being the time of year there is more to catch up on TV as background entertainment :)

    Happy Saturdays all!

Well have not left the flat all day ... so at least it's been a NSD :T:T
AND I got 25 quid refunded which had been wrongly taken :):)

Have got through a few hillocks of paper, a small start. Whilst I recognise I may have been a bit of a hoarder, it's striking what 5 or 10 years ago we'd have needed to keep in hard copy but now would just find on t'interweb. So 2 bags of paper to go out in recycling and a growing pile for shredding or incinerator.

Couple of loads of washing hanging around with that damp 'feeling' so I've also spent some time looking at the dehumidiifier / heated airer options suggested by you lovely MFW'ers.

Cooked a batch of cabbasta thanks to the link from greent, and a big pot of Tilly's BNS soup so set up for next few days.

    Night all ...

    Hello Sunday peeps :hello:

After such a productive Saturday I spent a slothful but enjoyable morning reading MFW diaries, and the last hour doing a job I've been putting off for ages :T

I've been reflecting over the last couple of weeks since I started the diary and very conscious of the odd mixture of opportunity and challenge a period of unemployment is. If I knew what was happening next, when, I would leap into such organised action and savour the time etc, and it's irrational (and irritating!) that I am not doing this most days. I know that when I'm back at the grindstone I will look back with (well I'm not doing regrets, but you know what I mean ;)) … But it is also an odd time of roller coaster which is energy draining in a totally different kind of way to the usual grindstone.

I'm ever clearer (geddit :rotfl:) that clearing my space is absolute top priority. I realised this week that the number of ideas and ideas and wannabe explore / plans I have for the 3 F's are only distracting and too big right now and like everything else need to be simplified. One step at a time and all that …. So an update:
Flat I have done well with listing on the flea, astonished at what does/not sell, but this is just one aspect. The paper whose gremlins have probably suffocated with dust are key. This (along with job hunting stuff) is Top Priority. I have finally given in and asked a friend for some help - I'm embarrassed for anyone to see the state of it and most I really need to do myself, but she is coming next Sunday to tackle one bit with me. Excellent as this means I need to clear a path to that bit, plus motivated to sort out more to mitigate embarrassment.
Food This week was not good. I had a couple of days where I just forgot to eat, ended up on garbage, felt rotten etc. So for now (this week at least) I'm putting all dreams / plots / thoughts of plans and freezers and SCs and batches and different supermarkets to one side, and aiming to eat properly x3 each day, focused on using up what I have. Funnily enough, I do feel better when I do this :)
Frittering Odd one here, I am being much much more careful than usual atm, mindful of minimal spending and not too worried I'm being Silly. BUT I really can't seem to get down to recording in spending diary - have a purse stuffed with receipts from last couple of weeks (not too stuffed, been sensible) and just something is blocking me recording and analysing. Which is ridiculous and also I know will not help me make a SoA / proper budget to which I really do need to move.

So generally - good start with fleabay but Could Do Better, and hope this week's simplified aims will encourage this and stop me procrastinating with [STRIKE]cunning plans and dreams [/STRIKE] avoidance.

All that said, i haven't yet listed the couple of things on fleabay to take me over my 50 so must do so later. Now heading out to a friend in the country who has promised a long dog walk walking-the-dog-smiley-emoticon.gif, an good escape from the big smoke which will help with the cobwebs (and also may handily include a free dinner :))
    Better get a move on!

    xx
