TalkTalk website hit by cyber-attack

What really surprises me is that this is not a Solicitor organising a Class Action Law Suit against TalkTalk for this Hacking,
It seems to me that every customer who has had their data stolen has increased stress at the very least and as I heard on the radio one lady lost £16,000, this was verified by the station.
There is no excuse for this because it is common knowledge that websites are under attack, there are services that will detect and block such an attack.
It is bad enough that TalkTalk BARTER your data in return for services that would cost them money, something they do WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION and with no meaningful means to OPT OUT.
Sadly the toothless Information Commissioners Office is doing NOTHING and even if it wanted to the max fine is £500k, less than £8 per customer.
TalkTalk try to play it down by saying it only affected a small number of customers, this is absolute rubbish because the truth is they have NO IDEA what was taken, once a network connection was established there were 65,000 ports, some could have hacked the database via an API, other by grabbing raw files.
We have a plethora of reports where customers say they were assured by TalkTalk that their data was not stolen only to be contacted by hackers with the data a week or two later. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -
What's stopping you going to a solicitor then?0

coz they are big boys and "in" with the people that matter , how long will it be before "dido" gets a knighthood or is made a lord.
foot power is the way to go (as I have done) , if a garage does a *rap job , you do not go back!
TT said "if any money was taken out of your account , due to THE DATA BREACH they would pay losses"
however Mr and Mrs gullable are installing teamleader THEMSELVES and giving data awaySave a Rachael

I dont believe it was hacked .it was the people in the TT call center (india) selling your details to crooks.

I use to get worked up about calls, now I just say no and put the phone down. Then I started getting less and less. There are lots of devices that you can buy to beat them anyway ..google it and see.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I got free upgrade from talktalk because of the hacking scam.
I got the films, but most of them are rubbish:(“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

implies that the hacking event was barely noticed by TT !!0 -
It amazes me how people will give their card details over the phone. Why should you get your money back for being stupid.
TalkTalk have told their members they don't ask for such details over the phone.0 -
I had a phone call on friday the 19/02 from a man saying he was from talk talk, I said prove it and
he told me my account number, my last bill date and amount, the last 4 didgets of my account number and how I pay. I believed him and ended up being scammed out of £800. ( dumb I know )
Got in touch with talk talk saying my information had been used by someone claiming to be from their company, after numerous phone calls and terrible customer service, I've been sent a standard letter today saying they take no responsibility for me giving any information to a scam caller. I repeat I did not give any details to the caller, he gave them to me.
Has anyone else had this happen to them and can I take it to ofcom or the ombudsman.
Totally stressed out and in need of some good advice as someone has all my details and I need to find out from where it was taken.0
