New phone ?? Samsung J5
I am looking for some advice regarding buying a new phone. Currently I am with o2.
I was in Car phone warehouse and they were suggesting the Samsung J5. I had also been adviced by the o2 shop who suggested the Samsung A3. I have been told that this phone iw now 2 years old.
I don't use my mobile very much I use it for texts email and a bit of browsing online.
What I am offered 300 mins unlimited texts and 300MB which is more that my current allowances. Cost £17 50 Currently I am using the Nokia 520 200 mins unlim texts and 100MB and paying £14 50 monthly. I have never exceeded my allowances.
This J3 only seems to be available on the Carphonewarehouse be site so am wondering if it is only available through them .
The shop I was in was at a retail park and within Curry/PC World. I was told if I bought it there I would receive a £50 voucher to spend instore. He stated that this is not available at their shop in town. I do not drive and the first shop is a bus ride away and then a 10 min walk so it would be more convenient to buy in town. If I needed any advice etc.
Another question would I be better to purchase a phone with the o2 shop? I have always done so previously.
Could I also ask advice on colour. The phone is available in Black White and Gold. Currently my phone is black
I would welcome and appreciate advice
Many thanks Sue

I don't see the issue. You can do both online via Carphone Warehouse. You can get it on a 24 month contract on O2 via Carphone Warehouse for £17.50 per month. That means you will pay £168 for the phone over 24 months.
Alternatively you can buy the phone SIM Free online via Carphone Warehouse for £159.99 and the contract via O2 for £10.50 per month.
Not much in it.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I went into Carphone Warehouse in town today and have decided on the Samsung A3. It feels much better to hold metal not plastic. It was working in the showroom and I liked the look of it. The J5 was not wired up so could not see how the screen looked. The price is the same for the same package so all in all I am happy with my choice. They were keen to sell me insurance but at a monthly cost of £7 99 monthly but I have declined. Thanks again for your advice. Sue0

Poor choice of phone. Samsung A3 is relatively old(already a year now) and similar in specification to the Moto E.
Moto G 3rd Gen much better at that price. Also Vodafone Smart ultra 6 at £125.
This is why I emphasised online.0 -
