Have squeezed another £50 from current account into the savings pot. It's tempting to take more but I'll only have to take it back again as it gets nearer to pay day!
So, total = £2600/£60000 -
Morning Everyone......I'm feeling a bit rough this morning....Perhaps it's because I've not had enough sleep, I'm not sure!! Oh well, I'm sure I'll be fine once I get going....
Brass_Triumphant - You're more than Welcome to be here... I hope you will come back and let us know how you're getting on
black cat - I've Updated the First Post...you're doing AWESOME!! Keep it going0 -
Hello good morning fellow savers! It's 1:25 am and sleep is eluding me. It's occupational hazard I'm afraid. Running on stress steam for 8 hours and finishing at 11pm, makes it so hard to switch off and go to bed just like normal people. So what do you do when you can't sleep? Look at the bank accounts and reconcile the budget. Not sleep inducing by any means but at least it's a bit productive. After doing the above I managed to transfer £50 to the emergency fund. £20 came from the savings my hubby made on my brand new tyres. There's a story to that actually. Hubby bought my tyres online from ashda tyres 2 weeks ago to be fitted by a local tyre company last week. The night before the fitting, hubby decided to go online again and saw that the same tyres he purchased online became £10 cheaper. So on the day of the appointment he went to the fitters and phoned the supplier asking if he could cancel the order and make a different order with the new (lower) price. In a rather convoluted way he was told, it is possible to cancel the order but they will have to send the tyres back and book another appointment. (Something to do with paper trails and purchase orders etc). The fitters said why not purchase directly from him and he'd give a further £10 discount. Long story short, he had them fitted last Friday. 2 all weather tyres and perfect for snow. And guess what happened yesterday - we had a few inches of snow on my drive to work. Talking about perfect timing! And £20 cheaper at that.
We also had £6.96 cash back and interest from our current account. And spare £23.04 from last week's budget. Taking us up to £1430.22/£12,000. I am hoping to find £70 sometime between now and the next pay day to round off my total to £1500. Fingers crossed. I've got a few items that I could sell on eBay but now sure if now is good time to be selling used stuff when people are more up for brand new items for Christmas. Anybody have any experience selling on eBay so close Christmas?"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
A nice bit of bargaining there, The Only Girl!
I've been absent this weekend, as my chap was up yesterday. We did a bit of the festive food shop (getting close to the wire on my grocery budget). I also received my court orders so that I can crack on with buying my house!:jI'm actually staying put, but the ex was trying to put me and the kids out and wipe me out financially (bless). It's taken nearly four years, but I had a cracking barrister in September who finally thrashed it all out. I've spent this morning typing letters and photocopying documents for various organisations, and I'm now on the home straight. The kids are so proud of me for keeping it all together and making sure they could stay in the home they grew up in. When I placed my third Ocado order, they sent me a free bottle of your actual champagne. On the day the deeds are in my name, I'll be cracking it open. Completely off topic, but I am SO pleased! Hopefully having to pay no more legal bills after January will balance out the higher mortgage and mean I can still stash away in the EF.3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. I did mean it as a compliment! I salute people who are prepared to go to great lengths to protect and provide for the people they love. Enjoy the bubbly when you get to open it!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
