gah! it is only a 48 hour sale, so that'll finish today..

even without the sale on i found quite a few bargains around... Eastgate tower through last minute.com was coming out quite cheap too...

  • Wellington hasn't done too badly on tripadvisor, only time will tell but its the cheapest we could get for that time for now. Im sure ill be back to sample others!

My good lady bougfht me a trip (my first) to NYC for xmas

It's gong to be at easter (3-12 April) with a 3 day sojourn to DC in the middle.

Prices are no dount going to suffer as a result. I've been having a good look at this thread and sought out the much vaunted Cosmo

We can get this, through hotelconxions for around 150 bucks / night

Marky or others - should we go for the loft, or just a regular room?

Those expedia offers seem long gone, sadly, so if anyone can suggest anything for the peiods 3-8 April and 11-12 April that'd be really welcome

Cosmo seems to be the front runner at the mo tho

Cosmo is a great hotel to be honest... and at $150 a night (before taxes) you really can't go wrong, as that is the best price you can normally get them

I've stayed there on 5 occasions, and never had a bad stay yet.

With regards to the rooms. The Loft room is kinda unique. Downstairs, you have a chair, dressing table, wardrobe, tv, and small bathroom, then you have a small, rather steep stairs, into where there is a double bed, and another tv. However, if you're taller than 5'7, be prepared to stoop, or just jump into bed.

If i hadn't booked the Affinia 50 on the bargain offers, I would have been staying at the Cosmo yet again, and booking a loft room, even though i'm 6'4

Oh, the standard rooms are just that... bed, tv, bathroom, nuffsaid..
