i've just checked the hotels website and they are fully booked!

There are some ABSOLUTE BARGAINS around for hotels in NYC right now for 5 nights in March

Waldorf Astoria - £680, lastminute.com - less quidco cashback, £632.40 (119)

Novotel Times Square - £618.77 expedia.co.uk - less quidco cashback, £573.91 (91)

Eastgate Tower - £555 lastminute, less quidco cashback £516.15 (65)

Affinia 50 - 646.68 expedia - less quidco - £599.80 (7)

I hate to say this, but at £625.06 the Cosmo Hotel is looking a little bit expensive right now...

Numbers in Brackets at the end denote the trip advisor rating out of 415 hotels in NYC, so you can get a top ten hotel right now, for the price of the cosmo.... i'm really having to consider where to book!

From those listed I would go for the Affinia 50, have heard lots of good things about it. Know two people that have stayed at the Waldorf and get the impression it is very run down.

Maybe worth a little play on Priceline, see what you can get there? Just avoid the Times Square zone, you might get the Millenium Broadway (shivers at the memory ).

I would come over and join you for your birthday, but I'm doing Marrakech in March (and January!). I'm looking at NY with Washington for September ... but only if the dollar gets a little bit more friendly!

dmg24.. yeah.. i'm thinking the affinia 50 myself too, it is the 7th best hotel on tripadvisor out of 415, i really can't refuse that kinda price..

same price on hotels.com too, so 8% quidco cashback makes it even cheaper....
i'm still searching around just to make sure i have the best possible price..

hmm.. it's gonna be weird being in a different place, but, i do know a good dive bar only a block away, so that makes me happy

omg.. i'm not staying at the cosmopolitan... i must be feeling ill..

but at £594.95 after my quidco cashback (£118.99 a night), i think it is an absolute bargain i've just grabbed...

At least there is a dive bar nearby called fubar, which i'll be able to while away my last hours of being 29.....

Ok bargain rooms available at the Affinia 50 are the whole of Jan / Feb / Mar

apart from the following dates, where the rate rises slightly, however, for the next 24 hours, the prices are BRILLIANT..

Jan
3rd, 9th, 13th, 14th, 15th

Feb
14th - 19th

Mar
9th - 12th
16th - 19th
23rd - 26th
30th - 31st

Now one thing i've noticed, is that through expedia, the room shows as non cancellable, however through hotels.com it is... weird huh?

Hopefully your last few hours of being 29 will be fantastic. Mine certainly were, but that's not a story for the forum!
