    Good morning,

Your post is a tad vague for instance will it be christmassy in november, well if you go in the 1st week of Nov then suprisingly not.

You will notice that you are in the NY section of this forum and there are loads of posts about peoples personal preferences about where to stay etc etc, again due to the vagueness of your post its difficult to give you any input, after all you could be 85 and want a quiet life or 25 and want to party hard or even the other way round.

My suggestion would be to decide what you want to whilst there and what kind of atmosphere, and probably more importantly budget, then start trawling through this section of the site and also another great source of info is the new york forum on tripadvisor.com.

Regarding the weather you may find google is your friend on that one.

    all the best

    and happy researching

Anyone any experience? Its our first trip to New York and seen Air France direct return operated by Delta. Heathrow to JFK and back. What are they like on this route?

    thanks

    it is a delta codeshare...
i've flown with delta, thoroughly enjoyed it, the FA's are great!
if the price is right, and you're happy with it, who cares about what extras you get on board... my betting is someone like virgin or BA are a bit more expensive, and probably not worth it...

thanks for the reassurance. Soon have to name this entire forum/thread in your honour :T

PS we are thinking of being in New York for week including Xmas day is this a good idea or will everything be shut down, wasting a day or two??

i've never been at christmas before, but, i'm not aware than things will close.. i know bars and restaurants are open.. (thanksgiving is a bigger holiday)

You might find some things closed on Christmas Day, but Boxing Day is a UK holiday really, so things should be back open on the 26th!

Please can someone advise if this place is worth a visit - I am sure I read the Abercrombie shop here was good - its for my daughter plus I saw they have a Yankees club shop for the nipper!

I know you are a busy man but did you ever do the Tribeca food and bar guide?

Without a doubt worth a visit, lovely atmosphere, great views, TKTS booth with no queues, a Abercrombie store as you say and many more shops too.

We went for last Christmas. Really enjoyed it (first time at Christmas but we have been before)

This year was especially busy for some reason. We had booked in July and got good rates on the hotel.

How many and what age group are you? Lots to do, wish we'd had longer though. Boxing day is a normal day and the sales are on.

pm me if you want any specific information.

    Zzzzz
