Hmmm big phil, did you know the only time big phil managed a football team against man utd they lost, in the 1999 intercontinental cup, and given that he has no high level track record in club management only international football im not that worried about him.

So would i prefer the champions league and the premiership or a new manager, tough one that.

anyway yeah new york new york its a hell of a town.

Neither did Avram and we came pretty close. ;) Anyway, there wasn't a huge amount of people to choose from so I think he's the best of the bunch, just have to see, no other option! He has passion and doesn't take any sh*t, which unfortunately Avram lacked in that dept, and it showed on the bench.

    Oooh back on topic

Have to admit I cleared my wallet out of all my recipts etc from our recent trip yesterday and felt a twinge of missing the place but I think its time to look further a field and try and see new things in new places, mind you the 1st whiff of a cheap flight/hotel combo and i'll be there elbowing people out of the way at macys with the best of them.

Looking for some advice and others thoughts please

Am planning a long weekend to NYC next March for my big 40 leaving on Friday 6th March returning on Tuesday 10th March. Had planned to fly from Bristol with Continental.

However, here is the dilemma. Some friends of my OH's parents can get us flights to NYC from Heathrow which may mean we can fly first class. How it works is that he books us into their system (he works for one of the airlines) and we check-in preferably for the early flight. If there are first class seats free we fly first class, if not then business class and if no business class then economy and we only pay for what we actually fly at a vastly reduced cost.

Now my dilemma is this. We will never get the chance to fly first class again but dont like the idea of the uncertainty of not knowing if we will get on that flight or maybe any flight that day although there are 5 non-stop flights a day.

Has anyone any experience of this and what do others think we should do? I should say that we are fixed with travel dates due to work and children.

Take a look at markymoo's guides in the first post of this thread, they should give you an idea of the place, things to do/where to stay, etc..

If you're lucky, the guy himself may even make an appearance from his NY retirement castle  :D
