Hotel Advice.
There is a group of us looking to go to New York end of November this year for 5 nights. We are hoping to stay somewhere near to Times Square. However we have never been before so would be very grateful for any hotel recommendations anyone may have.
Thanks in advance
carefully price everything up as it's likely your trip will include thanksgiving0 -
staying near times square isn't everything.. most places are only 10 - 15 minutes away by subway..

Just come back from Washington via JFK booked through Airline network and flights with Delta Airlines.£194 return.....Excellent flights with 6hr stop over which gave us enough time to nip into the city. Times sq, Broadway and coffee at macys for 7 dollars on the air train and metro....thank you Airline network.... Nationwide credit card, no charges and 1.99 dollars to the £!...bri:j0

Hi all,Im not fussy when I go to new york and am willing to let the price of the flights decide when I go.Im assuming the summer time is quite expensive(flights and hotels etc).So I thought heading to new york at the end of the year would be much cheaper..I dont want to go around Thanksgiving or around the Xmas shopping period.
Do you think I'll get a good deal or am I better waiting until the new year??Im willing to fly from anywhere in the uk..again..wherever is cheaper to fly from and I would like direct flights only.
Please help!_________0 -
Sept / Oct are sometimes cheap, but the cheapest months are Jan - Apr.. when the weather isn't that good...
that's what i've found anyway...

early in the new year when times are quiet. some airlines throw out bargain fares to people like airline network just to stir up interest, thats when I found our tickets to washington via JFK........ chose spring a good time to visit.....anywhere. Our tickets were £104 plus tax = £194 regards ....bri0

I will be after seeing a Broadway show too. Also went on the net and there is a free open air concert in Central Park when I go and Duran Duran are playing.
Sounds good! Been doing abit of research on the shows and 'Jersey Boys', 'Avenue Q' and 'Grease' all seem to have very good reviews.
We'll be in New York for Memorial day weekend, so there should be lots of festivities going on and apparently lots of New Yorkers leave the city so queues for broadway tickets are shorter if you decide to go to the Times Squares TKTS booth.CARLISLE UNITED FC SUPPORTER

the TKTS booth isn't at times square, it is a lot smaller round the corner at the marriott... the queues are always large, and spending 15 mins on the subway to head down to south street seaport is a much better idea, as then, once you have your ticket, you could take a nice stroll down to battery city park, or a trip on the staten island ferry...
there is more to NYC than times square...

Reading the following extract led me to believe that the booth usually located in Times Square would be a a little quieter and queues perhaps shorter during my visit:
'It seems to me that Tuesdays are the best days to go to the TKTS booth in Times Square. Wednesdays are always hectic with people coming in for matinees, and Thursday through Sunday are full of tourists. Tuesday is also often the slowest night for theaters.
It's also good to go during a slow tourist time of year. January through March are great times to hit the TKTS booth. Not as many people come into the city during the cold, non-holiday months. And Memorial Day weekend. Everyone leaves the city, so the TKTS booth line tends to be short and fast, with lots of stuff available.'
markymoo, did I say there wasn't more to NYC than Times Square?!?CARLISLE UNITED FC SUPPORTER
