    Hello,
I have been accepted for this race :j:T. Its on the 2nd November.

I want to go for about week, and my dates are flexible but I would like at least 3 days in the city AFTER the race so I can do some proper eating/drinking without worrying about spoiling the race.
The best I found was £345 return from Manchester (preffer a northern departure) with US Airways via Philly from 30/10 to 6/11.

    Any better prices folks?
    cheers

Have you got your accommodation sorted, as no surprise that weekend the hotel rates are sky high.

£345 is a little high (maybe get one for £300?) BUT if you HAVE to be in NYC for the marathon then it's the price you may have to pay.

I did the NYC Marathon in 2000 and then went on from there for a 10 day holiday Vegas and Canyon land.

    Enjoy

I'd read this (huge) thread to figure out where you want to stay and at what price.

Cheap options could be in New Jersey or even Secaucus (do a search to find these).

    Is this your first Marathon?

ok... £307 for the same flights, on cheaptickets.com

as for a hotel... how about the cosmopolitan hotel, they still have rooms available through hotelconxions.com and for the whole stay it works out at .. $1673.90 including all taxes.... (about £871)

    Hope that helps...

    Cosmopolitan Hotel
95 West Broadway (Corner of Chambers)
    New York
    NY, 10007

Damn.. i know that address from the top of my head..
    Tribeca,

Chambers Street Subway, for the 1,2,3 line is outside the hotel, A, C Lines are 1 Block East, And City Hall Station, N, R Lines are about 2 blocks away.
It isn't midtown, but it is a lovely area, watch out for my tribeca guide coming hopefully this weekend!

IMO it is a good price for Manhattan, staying in NJ, or Brooklyn will reduce costs though...

thanks, have you ever stayed in a bed and breakfast in NYC?
I have found a few with good reviews (in manhattan) that are available for less than £600 for the week.
Also is there a best airline thread for new york?
