for a split trip that is quite good... the alternative, is get flights to NYC, (direct) and then an internal flight to Vegas... this may work out slightly cheaper, but it depends on dates... think about £250 for a NYC flight...

    Hi
Advertised in today's mirror, Virgin, Heathrow - New York £255. Book by January 22 for travel until March 20. Also I received an email from Asda offering flights for £233 but the pages were so slow in loading, I gave up. This was for travel up until April. Hope this helps someone. sally

    Hi
As I am not good (understatement) with links or indeed anything to do with computers, I will condense the email which came to me. It came from ASDA.comTravel<asda-travel@uk.asda.com. I have just had a quick look and the page definitely loaded up faster tonight than it did last night. The carrier is North West Airlines - out of Gatwick. Book by 10/01 and flights are for 1/04 onwards so this might not help you but good luck, you never know it might lead to something. - Sally

thanks to both of you.... i'm flying in March though.. :(.. i should learn to read
  • Just to let you all know-
had great time in New York over Christmas.
    In a nutshell:
Yellow taxi in to Manhattan from JFK ($45 + $4.50 toll + tip)
Both ways (not the cheapest but def the easiest).
Stayed in Times Sq Hotel- couldnt have been nicer-or more central (prob could have been lot cheaper tho!)
Weather great- cold but sunny (rained only 1 night)
Century 21 and Woodbury Common and Macys all worth it
Ground Zero a bit of an anticlimax. LOVED the sight of the Statue of Liberty from the (free) Staten Island Ferry
Never got up the Empire State Building (have 2 leave a little something for next time!).
Subway great -once we got the hang of it
Walked miles..didnt notice. Central Pk on Christmas Day was great- Really sunny bright day+ a real change from all the bustle
People great - even got used to "having a great day". Lots of food. Too much food. Breakfasts did us all day nearly.
Agh- loads more..... If anyone has any Qs -feel free to message me.
Thank you for all the advice beforehand (esp Markymoo)

top of the rock is a better view..... personally, you don't need to prebook, what if the day you've prebooked, it is a really foggy day...

choose your day, by watching the weather forecast first thing in the morning, and then go...

have a great holiday *jealous* ;)

How was the journey to Woodbury Common, did you go midweek, or weekend? also, was it awful to get back on the bus, I have been tipped off about waits for hours to get back. Oh, also was it uber busy when you were there?
