Marky, thanks for that tip -just booked a week from 8th to 15th April for our first visit and I am so excited!!
Now - just need to find a hotel. The Cosmo looks great but might be a little expensive since we are staying a week (hope I wasn't too hasty there as we did intend just a weekend!). Anywhere else a little cheaper - any ideas? - would be fab. It's two adults and two kids by the way...........
markymoo is right... Cosmo is not expensive (compared to other NY hotels).
Just a suggestion but since it's two adults and two kids try "Radio City Apartments"
I was gonna book there for December but couldn't get in0 -

I managed to get the cheap flights yesterday, and booked for Feb.
I have been reading so many forums and trip advisor and now caught between booking Cosmo, Best Western or the Pod for my stay. Both look just what I'm looking for, anyone want to make my decision any easier that's been before?0 -

We were at the Cosmo in July, 2 adults and 3 boys aged 16, 18 and 21 (wasn't describing them SO much easier when they were all teenagers?)
We had two rooms, one with a double bed for us, and one with two double beds for them. The boys weren't too thrilled by bed-sharing, but they coped.
If yours are small enough and you can cope without "it" for a week, I'd recommend one of them for you, for cheapness.
Perhaps the downside of the Cosmo with very young children is that there isn't really anywhere to 'be' other than in your room. But if you are out and about all day, that, frankly, is the only place you will want to be! :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi I'll be on Honeymoon in NYC from 20th December till 28th December. Staying at the Hotel Metro on Room and continental breakfast basis. Having never been to NYC before (maybe a daft question but gonna ask anyway), should I be reserving a table for Xmas Day meal or will there be places open???0

princess fiona..
you can book a table, make some informed choices, take a peek at https://www.menupages.com to have a look at restaurant menu's and prices, and then book via https://www.opentable.com
very useful, means you don't have to call up asking for reservations, you just know if anything is already available..

Have just booked a weeks holiday at beginning of November, flying with Continental from Gatwick to Newark @ £319 each, travelling with my SIL. I though that was I good price. Just thanking my lucky stars that when I tried to get prices from the Zoom website for November, only October dates were displayed so I gave up. I do feel sorry for anyone affected by Zooms troubles.
Have also booked a room at the Courtyard Marriott Jersey City Newport Hotel, using Marriott points, so hotel stay not actually costing any money. Reports on Trip Adviser are mostly very good, and hotel is adjacent to PATH station for transport into NYC.
I am getting quite excited about this, so after reading Markymoos guides I may well be posting questions............so be prepared! :rotfl:

Great shame because I really enjoyed my flights with them and would have used them again, if I ever go again.Signature removed for peace of mind0
