I have been struggling to find good prices from Manchester but from Heathrow, British Airways and American Airlines (both on their own websites or from google search) are showing prices from £299 depending on date of travel. Flights must be booked by 23rd September though as I believe it is a 'special offer sale' at the moment.
I am thinking of going with AA unless I can find anything cheaper on the internet... its hotels that are now causing the most difficulty...0 -
I recall viewing a link on here that showed what seats were available on airlines. It seemed to show how many seats in each class had been sold and how full the flight was .I remember that it was on the AmericanExpress site but can't seem to find it there.Any ideas.0

zomig... do a search on kayak... that is the best bet to find... use the weekend search, which will search for best fares over a whole month0

I am off to New York in february for mine and my BF's 5 Year anniversary.
I would like to book a table somewhere for an evening meal on our actual anniversary, can anybody recomend some where a bit special??? It doesnt have to be a romantic place (BF isn't really in to that  )0 -
thatsfabulous... paper tickets... wow.. rare... 2 weeks before travel, if you don't have them then.. start chasing it IMO..
Shevs... Tribeca Grill is nice... Keens Steakhouse is amazing.. both very good restaurants, but there are plenty more.. check menupages.com for menus and reviews.. go onto nytimes.com and have a look at their restaurant reviews as well.. book your table through opentable.com

If you want something really special - we went to the River Cafe in Brooklyn (it's actually at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge) and the food was superb although a bit pricey. You can then sit on the terrace after with a cocktail and look across the river as the skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge lights up - it was amazing.
Also went to The Boathouse in Central Park which was also very good - overlooking the lake and the food was excellent.0 -

Here goes again,
We are travelling 30th dec - 5th Jan and whilst i usually stay in the Cosmo and can book it now i wondered if there are any places that allow you to book, pay deposit maybe or secure with your credit card without actually charging it and pay on arrival or departure?
The only reason i am asking is the season and dates we are travelling and because we are going to Florida for 3 weeks on the 17th Sept and i could do with NY being paid for on the return from that. Im dubious that the Cosmo will have availabilty and so am thinking of booking somewhere else possibly with view to paying later just so i know we have somewhere.
I have been several times but always stay in Cosmo because we love the area and the price is great. I am just unaware how to approach this with it being the busy time of the year. I would prefer not to be in Times Square area but if i can secure the room now without paying the balance i would do so. We are also travelling as two couples and are hoping to share a room with two double beds as a further cost saver, which is of course possible at our usual haunt. I am starting to think New Years was a bad idea, one week later and it would have been no problem for a room.
Any advice appreciated.

We stayed at The Wellington in July. They took my cc number at the time of booking (May) but nothing was charged to my account until about 2 weeks after we returned home. Hope this helps.0
