i'm sure if you call the cosmo, they charge on checkout, rather than in advance. it is only if you book through hotelconxions.com which is slightly cheaper, they charge on time of booking...
  • Does anyone know how far in advance I will receive my flight tickets for NY, Flying with British Airways? Going in 6 weeks...
So long ago i had actual tickets.
    Thanks

I'm flying with BA early November, but have been emailed an e-ticket. Are you sure you're going to get paper ones?
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

I'm going to NYC for the 4th time in a few weeks. I wondered if anyone here has ever done a Sex and the City bus tour? It sounds like fun and would be a totally frivilous (sp?) thing to do, but I have seen all the major sights several times before and wanted to do something different. Can anyone recommend a particular company to use. Thanks!

Hi there, I went to NY in May and this was something I REALLY wanted to do. We booked it with our hotel, so sorry don't know the company name, but we had to meet them at the same place there was a big rally going on. They didn't turn up and we rang them and we said we were there but they said we couldn't have our money back, I was gutted! So went to see the film instead. Just wanted to say, this happens occasionally apparently, they don't turn up but say they do and as you are likely to be going back home shortly, you can't really chase it up. But my friend went on it and said it was fab, so I am not saying they never turn up. I would book it (probably through your hotel as they can act as a go between for you) as soon as you get there for early on in your trip, then at least you have time to chase it up if there are any problems.

Sorry, don't know if that helped or not.

  • Ive got time off work until the 15th. Whats the sort of price I will pay to spend a few days in NYC if I book now and go in the next couple of days?

    Ok..... Fly Wednesday 10th. Back on 14th (land 15th) - Delta £403 Direct (Delta.com)

Indirect flights, £323 with KLM (klm.com)

    Hotels..

ok.. Hotels are tricky... i have no budget, so i don't know what to suggest]

Pennsylvania Hotel is available, at a total cost of - £1000 for the stay... there is bound to be cheaper around. just search the usual culprits of webites

    (expedia, opodo, hotels.com etc!)

We went to NY in August and my OH and dd had booked this tour and have to say I was absolutely dreading it. However, and I never thought I would say this, but it was money well spent as we saw areas of NY which we would not have managed to get to see otherwise. Stopped off in Greenwich Village, Meatpacking District and loads of other areas other than the usual tourist bits. The tour cost about £18 each and lasted about 3 hours but you get a cocktail and a magnolia cupcake chucked in for that. To my surprise I was not the only male on the coach either! Have to say though that the tour guide was a bit "intense" - I think she really thought she was living the TV series.

The company we used was On Location Tours and we booked online before we went. You just print of your e-ticket and the tour met up outside the Plaza Hotel (by the Apple store) which was very easy to find.

If you do go I am sure you will enjoy it.
