Stop LP - I'm not going till Jan and I'm about to explode!
Really must check where exactly my friend lives so I can start planning things to do - its a shame I'll miss Chinese New Year... Anyone else have any good Jan suggestions - apart from shopping - for a 5-7 day trip?
Thanks0 -

My DH & I are planning our first holiday to NY (I'm soo excited). Is there much diff. from arr/dep Newark or JFK? Is it like LHR Vs LGW i.e. no difference? We are looking at midtown hotels.
ThanksThank you all who post.0 -
chyna-s..
swings and roundabouts with regards to airports... newark is slightly more expensive to get to and from, as there is no fixed price, and it is in new jersey, so you pay slightly more in taxi, but the airtrain is cheap enough from either airport to get into manhattan..
midtown... i'll leave that to someone else to comment on...

As Mr Moo has mentioned newark is in NJ and therefore more expensive to get to and from, its also a far smaller airport and therefore not a great deal to when you have checked in, ie very few shops compared to JFK, people have said that newark is easier to fly into because they have fewer flights and therfore immigration can be easier to get through, however on the last two times into jfk there have been no other flights when we arrived and therefore we sailed through immigration.
all the best
