  • Ooh, the excitement builds. I've just confirmed my address with them and my Experian Credit Score has been requested. I now just need to wait for them to check my application and my Experian Credit Score will become available in the next 24 hours.
    How exciting.
I can't wait. I wonder what my number will be.

In fact, for others in the same position who can't wait that long, go into Excel and paste the following into any cell...
    =RANDBETWEEN(0,999)

Once you get bored with that number hit F9 and you'll get another one.

    ;)

OK great. I got 170 on JTW's method and 999 on Experian.

So now we know Experian's method is not random, else I would have got 170 on them too.
  • Hi , I am new to the site and saw the Barclay card so i would like to asked a question? has anyone heard that Barclay card has a maximum that you can pay on your account? I tried to pay £1000 on a £2300 bill but was told by three different people at three different times that the limit was £500 (£300 by one person) And now they are telling me it makes a difference on what type of account i have, Has anyone heard about this? Can they do that? i mean set a max on what you can pay. Thanks for your help.

It's nonsense, you can pay any amount you want to.

If you log onto the online account, there is an option to pay your bill. You have 3 choices, pay the minimum, pay any amount you want (although needs to be more than the minimum) or clear the full statement balance.

Or you could just pay via your online banking and send a faster payment.

Yeah I hope so....as my score is zero

That doesn't sound right. If I were you I would be paying the £2 fee and obtaining a hard copy of my Experian report to check that everything is as it should be.

For everyone else, here is a breakdown of the 'scores':

  • On my Noodle account I have about 650 and it says this is good. Are they different scores.

Still can't get into the Barclaycard one.

I've never seen my Experian score before. It's 702, which is "Poor". 702/999 is about 70%, which is a pass in my book!

It's worthy of note that my ClearScore is 488/700, which is also about 70%. They seem to have agreed on something! However CS deem this "Soaring High" instead of "Poor"; go figure. Looks like I'm trying to apply logic where none exists, doesn't it?
  • I apparently cannot be traced by Experian at my address despite being here for 6 years and being on the Electoral roll all of this time.
They want 2 original bits of address confirmation - so I'll be giving this a miss.
I get the free Noddle report anyway.

Well I got a copy of my report in January as a remortgaged in March...report was fine...had one missed payment on a credit card within the last 30 months and that's about it.

All other details were correct and appear to be up to date.

Since the remortgage in March I have taken on a new BA American Express card for the avios offer of points and have closed my mint credit card.

Maybe I'll wait until the barclaycard score updates again, before I get another copy of report

Signed up with Barclaycard (for the free credit score) last week.
Today I got a welcome letter from Experian saying my 30 day trial has started and my monthly fee of £14.99 will start at the end of the trial.
Has this happened to anyone else yet?

Yes just got the letter as well !, phoned them up and 'Eventually' (It took forever to actually get to talk to someone) who said it was 'Probably a Mistake' as the reference number was not recognised !, but I don't fancy being charged £14.99 to see a score that is no use to anyone !.
