Barclaycard & Free Experian Credit Score

  • I have had a problem with Experian not being able to provide me with a credit score although I have been with Barclaycard for a long period of time and I am on electoral role and have no idea why this should be causing Experian a problem.
This is the message I received ' Sorry, we haven't been able to retrieve your Experian Credit Score
Unfortunately, with the information provided, Experian haven't been able to provide you with a credit score.'..................

Thankfully I get free credit reports via Equifax (provided free by another credit card company) but I was curious about my Credit Score. I suppose I will never know now unless i pay which I would not think is worth it really. Anybody else get a similar message?

Yes, I got the same message even though Experian provided me with a full credit report (for £2) a couple of months ago and I have been with Barclaycard for donkey's years.

Well I signed up days ago, got an email saying it was there to view so logged on. When I found the page it just said Experian are checking your details. Barclaycard have been no help via secure message so not sure what's occurring really.

    Yes

    I get the same message.

Not even any attempt to say please send in proof of address etc so we can verify this and produce a score.

Its rather odd as I requested an Experian £2 credit report just 2 months ago, was a customer (albeit paying £1.50 a month for an alert service) for 2 years at the same address and am still getting regular emails from them asking me to sign up again and pay £14.99 a month. So why on earth can’t they trace me?!!

Equifax/clearscore and Noddle seem able to provide scores/credit files perfectly happily. Very odd!

Perhaps they cannot cope with the volume and just cannot be bothered to make the effort.

    I got the same message.

Interestingly, today it's been updated to this:
Sorry, but you can't apply just yet

You recently cancelled your free Experian Credit Score service. Please wait 7 days from cancelling to reactivate.

I didn't cancel. There wasn't an option to cancel; and Experian couldn't find me anyway.

I guess they're tweaking things behind the scenes and we'll be given another opportunity to request our score. :T
  • I applied through My Barclaycard just over a week ago. I had to enter a few previous addresses and agree to the Ts & Cs, and having done so, was told that I would receive an email confirming when the score was available to view.

I didn't receive said email alert, but after logging in today the score is now visible.

I've just received the following email from Barclaycard:
It seems the system we use to verify you didn't recognise some of the details you gave us when you tried to register for your free Experian Credit Score. But don’t worry - we'll get things moving again in no time.

Simply give us a call on 0800 151 0900 so we can take the correct details from you. Once we have these, Experian should be able to get you access to your free Experian Credit Score as soon as possible.
  • I was given the same message:

Unfortunately, with the information provided, Experian haven't been able to provide you with a credit score. This means that you can't access the free Experian Credit Score service. If you want to find out more about your credit information, please contact any credit reference agency. As their checks will be more detailed than for this free service, they should be able to help.

Funny how I've had my Barclaycard account for years, have lived at this address for over 2 years, provided previous addresses and had a free trial with Experian and still get emails asking me to join up. No thanks - I'd rather keep my £14.99 a month

Yesterday afternoon, I have just requested the free credit score using Barclaycard online banking. I logged on today and still haven't got on yet.

How many days do they take to give a score? How many days did you wait?

After reading this thread some of you got your score, and some of you didn't despite the fact you provided correct details through Barclaycard.

For those of you who didn't get ths score, did you send more documentation like proof of address, or just ignored it? Did they send you an email or letter requesting documentation?
