I don't thinks anyone has mentioned that they are on quidco with 8% cash back. I haven't used this company but I have used container clearnace company with no problems.0

Just an update - I was really pleased with how quickly they got back to me - they offered me £50 in order for me to get repairs carried out, I settled for £75 back. Was really pleased with how they dealt with it. I will probably try and find some matching paint and rub it down and restain it myself. But top marks for customer service in my opinion this time.
Thanks for that crocodileteeth - they never used to be on Quidco - I checked before I placed my order - but its good to hear that they are now!0 -
Hi all,
My first post! I've been looking into buying a oak dining table and saw the containerclearancecompany on ebay and have quickly cottoned onto the fact that they are the same company as oakfurnitureland. Thought you might all be interested to know that they also have "sales" of their furniture in Chippenham, Wiltshire. I live nearby and have been to a couple and bought a sideboard last time, it is all factory seconds stuff and they always put an advert in the local paper claiming that their factory is closing down, everything must go, kind of thing and run the sale from a disused warehouse!
I like the look of the stuff on ebay but I'm convinced that it's exactly the same stuff as the seconds but at a much higher price! For example their ad in the paper has a dining set for £249 which is £649 on ebay!0 -

I was just going to mention this.
You have to be quick though as their factory is being knocked down on the 28th August!
Ive been going for the past 6 months and have brought many really cheap items.0 -
If anyone is in the sheffield area there are a couple of places with decent oak furniture (and other stuff) at good prices. My new favourite (having just bought my dinning set from there) is SWAG furniture clearance in Darnall, near the B and Q warehouse _ it's in an industrial estate next door - turn up past mcdonalds and keep going up the hill.
They had these two debenhams dinning tables and sideboards at half the debenhams sale price (so quarter the original).

http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_60852_519686_-1 - £450 for table and slatted chairs, had leather ones too - but didn't ask how much. Sideboards were £250
Delivery is free and same day if you like. We also got our sofas from there - chose them in the morning and got them delivered in the afternoon.
We got different sofas but they had these SCS ones a 3+2 for £950, inc delivery
http://www.scs.co.uk/product.php?id=284 (£1569 at SCS) and matching footstools are £50 if bought with a suite (or £100 if you don't buy a suite)
Sorry if it sounds like an advert - no connection, just a happy customer and all his business is word of mouth, so I said I'd give a shout out on here, because I was impressed with his products and service (he knocked an extra £50 off our sofas, because we'd bought a dinning table as well, without us asking - plus he didnt' push us into our £950 sofa pair, he thought we'd have been happy with the ones we first saw at £600 a pair, but you like what you like, and we prefered the more expensive ones!)0 -
Errrr no... would be my answer. This is my first posting on here, but felt compelled to do so when I saw the question. I ordered a Sleigh Bed on 6th June - it arrived 1st September after some chasing on my behalf (though they do state it could take up to 16 weeks so fair enough, I guess). However when we opened it, it had a chunk missing from one of the side parts, a rough finish just about the missing chunk, one of the brackets was a total mess and the bed's meant to have a smooth finish (the rest of it is very smooth) but it was very, very rough on the back of the footboard. I had to send in photos which I did (12!) and then was offered a measly £50 to find a local repairer!!! I was incredibly cross about that. I have literally just rung them to complain and they've called back whilst I was typing to say they will exchange but I'll have to wait 2 weeks until they have more of the bed in stock. Quite annoying as we've just moved and are waiting to move into our bed and bedroom but at least they've done something about it. We spoke to someone who was polite, called 'David'. If the bed didn't have the problems, it would have been beautiful and we did see it in a local bedshop at about £700 (in a sale!) whilst it's £400 on the website. I'll post again when I get the second one to let you know how that goes if you like?0

Following on from my last posting, I was told the beds would be in next week and I rang today to check they would be as, having ordered the flipping thing on 6th June, I'm not getting quite impatient for a bed! They bluffed and said vaguries about deliveries and then tried to tell me they wouldn't be in until Oct 6th at which I nearly burst something. I've now waited an hour for someone to call me back (and having just rung again, the manager's still on the phone so I'm not a priority I guess).
I was told that they could collect the bed or I could wait until Oct for a bed. I think this is disgusting, given a) I've waited 3 months for a bed and b) they've sent out shoddy goods. I'm not sure how this offer compensates me for time and effort in calls I've made, being off work to collect the shoddy delivery (and of course having to be in to have it re-collected) and that at the end of the day, we still have NO BED AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I have serious concerns about this company and their transparency around the goods they are selling.0 -
I got my dining room table and chairs, oak from reclaimed wood from a local furniture shop sold via there warehouse on a trading estate. You could find anything wrong is had that distressed look anyhow. The table is so think over a inch think and chairs are very heavy you can hardly carry one of them0

We bought a coffee table from them and the corner unit from the Newark range and it is brilliant. We have also ordered the same again for the mother-in-law and she is awaiting delivery. I had a question, phoned them and they were helpful and understanding and the couriers provided excellent service. On the one occasion a frined of mine had a problem they phoned up and it was resolved immediately.
I have to say that threads like this do not help a business much and when they come on here to post it does look as if they are being defensive. If they post too much it looks defensive and if they don;t post then speculation mounts ridiculously about their honesty.
All I can do is assure you that I have been a happy customer with them for a while now and that the quality of the furniture is excellent.0 -
I bought three items from one range from Oakfurnitureland. All three pieces had faults and they refused to replace them. As a compromise they offered a small sum to get a carpenter to fix the faults.
They are obviously selling faulty furniture claiming it is brand new. I don't believe that I could order 3 separate items and for each of these to have their own faults.
I would not recommend this company to anyone despite what oakfurnitureland has already posted on this thread.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0
